The Witterings in Sussex have some lovely beaches but are a bit remote from major towns. To agree with other answers, Saudersfoot is charming, as are Cromer and Sheringham in North Norfolk (North Sea weather though!), and Dorset has some lovely beaches. |

From personal experience Sussex and Hampshire are really nice to visit in the summer. Particularly the Isle of Wight - I went on holiday there when I was a student, it was a really nice place to stay, and has some great beaches, and friendly people. There is often a lot going on on the south coast; Brighton is a really fun place to visit if you like cities, with a decent night life and great shops etc. for the daytime. There are some really nice beaches along the Sussex and Hampshire coast too, and lots of historical places to visit. |

I'm another advocate of the North Norfolk Coast. The beaches really are fabulous (watch Kingdom on Sunday nights at 9pm, it's set there) and if you get decent weather you can't beat it. |

I Love Great Yarmouth but it depends what you are looking for on your holiday. My Dad tells me that Newquay is nice but I haven't been. |
