north Yorkshire coast

somewhere in north east cheshire

close to manchester (great city with great road/rail links, international airport and local tram system) but with none of the stresses of living in a big city and lots of the perks of living near to scenic countryside

lymm is a beautiful little village

or, for somewhere a bit bigger, how about wilmslow?

or, across the county, theres chester...

Somerset! It's beautiful.
We have a great sense of humour and the people are really sociable and welcoming. Plus it's right next to devon so you're not moving too far away. There are some great schools and colleges here (in case you have children ??) I would recommend >>Bridgwater << (lovely houses, great schools, great college, great history, and it's where i'm from!!) or somewhere nearby like Taunton. If you prefer the city then Bristol is the obvious answer.
Some additional info to your question would be helpful ? :)

It all depends on what kind of thing you're looking for I guess. I grew up in Romford (Essex) which is in the Greater London area and wasn't the nicest place to live but had a lot going on there. I've also lived in Seaford (Sussex) which was the complete opposite - quiet seaside town with nothing much happening, but beautiful scenery on the South Downs. That area is lovely - Lewes, Eastbourne etc and of course there is Brighton which I've always thought would be a great place to live, it has a great atmosphere and lots going on, as well as being within in reach of London.

I currently live in Hampshire, which is a great place to live if you can afford it, particularly Winchester (Unfortunately one of the most expensive places to live in the county!) and areas around the New Forest, which is gorgeous (specially with all the wild ponies wandering around!)

I think it's important to make sure you live within reach of friends or family, or make sure you can make friends easily if you move somewhere new - it's often the people that make a place worth living in.

I think London is where there are plenty of opportunities but it can be quite expensive there.

I'm asking questions about Bristol right now as I think it seems nice from times when I have visited it.

scotland - the east coast if you want to be close to city/town life, shopping, entertainment etc, the west coast if you want to be away from it all and love the outdoors and gorgeous scenery, the further north you go the more remote it gets......
