For couples, no kids... Lavenham, Suffolk. 1 1/2 hours from London. The finest example of a medieval town in England. I went there and was amazed.

Try this place if you can afford it (it's very expensive indeed, I couldn't)

But there are cheaper accommodation options, but be sure to book dinner at that hotel Sat night. Food is unsurpassed in my experience. |

Depends what you like. Cumbria is the best for relaxation. Mountains, lots of mountains, and the most beautiful scenery in the country. Thats where i'm spending my honeymoon. |

Across the pond. The Waterford Castle hotel in Waterford, Ireland is incredible. It's on a little island - with a car ferry. It's a do NOT miss attraction. The crystal factory is a nice complement to the trip. |

Go to a luxury hotel. Check out Mr and Mrs Smith. All the hotels in their selection have been handpicked and are really fantastic. |

I would recommend York. York is a historic town with small quaint shops, Roman walls and musuems. It is on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, and you can take an old fashioned steam train across the countryside. I guide you to the websites below:

I hope you have a lovely time wherever you choose. |

I think Edinburgh would be a great choice - galleries, the castle, Princes Street shopping, good pubs, museums, parks. Beautiful place.
York is great too. |

Well if you like culture, history and beautiful architecture then go to Oxford. It's a small city and everything is only about a 15 minute walk from the centre. The Oxford Jail is a new hotel built inside the old prison. Sorry can't remember the proper name of the hotel. Oxford is also only one hour from London. |

Chester or York are really nice towns. If you like nice scenery and walking the Wye Valley is also very relaxing. Can recommend the Hostelrie at Goodrich - nice accommodation and great food. |
