Where I live in Cornwall I only ever lock my door when I am going on holiday ( mind you I aint got much worth nicking) In 14 years of living here I have never had my car vandalised, never been kept up by noisy yobs, Never been burgled, only see the police in our village about once every 3 months, we have no street lights, no mains gas, But I do get my dustbins vandalised most nights........ by badgers. I wouldn't swap it for the world, absolute bliss!!!! |

Brighton is good. There's always something going on and it's small enough to get round on foot for the most part. You have the coast and the beaches and if you like walking you're surrounded by the beautiful South Downs. I am biased of course, having moved here myself 4 years ago. |

I live in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. It is very nice and quiet(ish) and there is a nicely sized town centre there and lots of field space and parks |

Not surprised you're moving! London's cool, as is the south. If you're coming from Jersey I'd stick to the south coast, or south of London as it's not so much of a jump in terms of landscape and culture: Bournemouth, Surrey, Kent, Cornwall, Newquay etc. If I were you I'd go to England for a few holidays to get a feel for the right place. Or just rent and move around for awhile until you find your place. |

London is crap lived there for years what a **** hole it is far too many people and to much traffic you'll never get anywhere and you cant rely on public transport, try Kent, Dorset, new forest much better standard of living quieter and alot safer |

I would thoroughly recommend the North Norfolk area. It is a great place to live with beautiful windmills, wide open beaches, coastal walks, world class birdwatching and tremendous wildlife, superb museums, glass blowing factories etc.The pace of life is far slower than in the South East/London areas. Very safe, very little crime, no Chavs/Hoodies etc.
The area is famous for attractive villages, great woodland walks, fields of lavender, fantastic stately homes (including the Royal Sandringham estate), open heathland and one of the oldest national parks (the Norfolk Broads) in the UK.
Whatever your interest, they can be catered for in North Norfolk - Sailing, fishing, birdwatching, walking, sketching and painting or a cookery masterclass.
If you want to go there and see for yourself try http://www.thegreatescapeholiday.com
They can provide a beautiful self-catering cottage, stock it with local produce and even supply a chef to turn the produce into into high class cuisine. Just about anything that you could want.
Cheers Bigpathome. |

i live in london, it is not the safest place to live and has a lot of congestion but it is exciting. i dont live in the inner city, where it is exspensive to live so here is quite nice. you could try somewhere like shropshire/norfolk where it not far from the country side but isnt distinctly empty. |
