Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. For the natural landscape visit the Highlands, the Cairngorns and the Isle of Skye |

Im from Glasgow and if you are looking for a city with everything then look no further. It has a huge range of restaurants, bars, clubs, cinemas, museums, parks, victorian architecture and lots more too. A good balance of old and modern, the city has some outstanding new buildings too like the Armadillo, Science Center & Imax cinema, Glasgow Tower and lots of other buildings with fantastic (and often quirky) design. The city is second only to London for shopping with many exclusive retailers and lots of unique smaller shops mixed with a host of shopping malls, both in and outside the city centre. Nearby Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are also beautiful and only 20 minutes drive from Glasgow city centre.
However, it doesnt do the country's scenery justice. Head north towards the highlands to Fort William (close to Ben Nevis, the UK's tallest mountain), Fort Augustus (at the opening of Loch Ness - home to the monster! My favourite place in the world, the scenery is amazing), and up to Inverness (The capital city of the Highlands and the fastest growing in Europe) and everywhere between for breathtaking scenery.
I will ditch my west coast loyalties and say Edinburgh is worth a visit, though it is very tourist heavy but for good reason - the castle and old city buildings are steeped in history and much like Glasgow it has lots to do and lots of historical sites to visit.
These places are all popular with tourists and for good reason, there is a lot more to discover about Scotland than just the two cities and the highlands, i would be here all day naming all the best places! But you cannot beat the scenery of the highlands. Beautiful. |

Scotland has got EVERYTHING! Great scenery, great pubs and great people. Arran is beautful - it's like going back in time. Glasgow and Edinburgh are fantastic cities. The Highlands are awesome, places like Criff are v beautiful.

Scenery:
Glen Affric has been described by many writers of Scottish Books as "the most beautiful Glen in Scotland and having been there I have to agree. Truly stunning.
Edinburgh: Lots of Historic Buildings, Big Castle, Royal Palace, Art Galleries, Museums, Royal Yacht Britannia, good shopping and nice views from Arthur's Seat (extinct volcano). Good centre to explore the rest of Scotland. |

The nicest place to visit is the Isle of Arran. Arran's nickname is Scotland in miniature. The locals are lovely, the food is great and it is very relaxing and peaceful. We lived there for almost 20 years. |

Edinburgh is always a good place to visit, something for everyone. If you want something a bit quieter, try either the fishing villages on the East Neuk of Fife or somewhere in the Highlands. |

I went to Port Patrick a couple of times when I was a kid, it was excellent, porrige and toasted muffins and honey for breakfast. Hopefully it has not been taken over by Muslims and Poles. In fact I may go back to check it out.
If I remember correctly they have palm trees, because it is on the gulf stream. It has probably been invaded by Americans looking for oil.
I went skiing in Ben Nevis once, but It was too windy and all the lifts were shut, but we had a great crack getting pissed with the locals. |

It has to be Edinburgh, though if you have time I'd also recommend going to an island. Skye is nice and is also very accessible. I was there last week and had a great time. |
