theres bad places everywhere. edinburghs has just as many rough places as glasgow. In response to Neil...Maryhill isnt rough at all, theres other places that are more rough such as Possilpark, Drumchapel or Easterhouse. Maryhill is like heaven compared to some of them!

Paisley seems to have more than its fair share of violence, but no doubt there are other places nearly as bad.
Every town, village, or city has its own particular problem areas.

Not an expert on Scotland, but Maryhill seems to be a bit rough. Almost as bad as here, (Belfast). But I dare anyone to come over here and say that.

Why? - Its the same as any other country or county, it has good bits and bad bits all over. But you ll always find us to be the Friendliest people in the world.

I'm guessing it's the dodgy parts of Glasgow. Ever saw the film Sweet Sixteen?

Possilpark is nicknamed " DRUG CITY ", i would say that is the roughest, but like anywhere in the World with Drugs everwhere, there will always be Rough places, some worse than others, even in the so called " Green Belt Areas " But as i don't live in Possilpark, but only worked there, its easier to say, I live in Easterhouse, but so far i hav'nt seen anything untoward, but have read about several incidents, with local gangs. So i would say its easier to say something about other places than your own. I will tell you about an Incident that had me in Stiches, I have Cousins in Canada, who i had never met until 1977, My Cousins Husband Pat, 6ft 4 in, built like an Ox,We obviously visited all Relations to get to know each other, One lived in the Gorbals.......... after the Party, they were comming home to stay at my Parents, but as Taxis only take 5, 2 off us were left to get another, about 2am in the morning, as my Uncle was French Canadian, to Marry my aunt They needed a Special Licence, as it was during the War, They were Married in the old Church in Ballatter St, a Town Crier type Person announced this from the Church Steps, So i thought whilst waiting for a Taxi, i'd show Pat the Church, he seemed agitated & shivering slightly, as it was quite cool, i never gave it a second thought, after seeing the Church, we got a Taxi to Toryglen, the nearer we reached there Pat seemed to relax, then He told me He was realy glad to leave the Gorbals, as He had read all about " THE GORBALS & THE GANGS THAT RUN ABOUT IT " ?????, i was puzzled & asked him where he read this, from two books, " NO MEAN CITY " & " A STONE FOR DANNY FISHER " & He knew all about the Razor Gangs, i was in stiches for ages & so was the Taxi driver, who did'nt Charge us the Fare, he told Pat he had'nt had such a good laugh in ages, to say Pat was bemused why we found it so Funny, is an understatement, but He was so embarrassed to realize they were only Novels & not exactly Bone Fide Books. As you see others make up there own minds about a place from Books, Newspapers & other Media outlets, without actualy having been there.
