Wales is great !
South Wales - Try Pembroke, around St Davids, Tenby etc all nice, great little beaches etc, quite country roads for cycling. St Davids can get a little busy during August but still plenty of room
Try the visit wales website:

North Wales: Llyn Peninsula, from Porthmadog to Abersoch.

Anglesey is also nice re plenty of little beaches / minor roads.
Plenty of other great areas in mid wales, from Barmouth down thro Aberdovey and Southwards. All depends on if you want a quite village location be in larger seaside town.

Anglesey is great. I went there every year for my holiday from the age of 0 years to 16 years. There is loads to do and it is really beautiful. The Sea Zoo is fun for little ones! |

I love the Swansea/Tenby/Pembroke area. The coast is so picturesque, and public transport is good. Lots of castles, beaches, and places for children to explore.
Get a Haven Holidays brochure, and any others your travel agent advises. There are masses of caravan parks and chalets along that bit of coast. My personal favourites are Kidwelly and Pendine.
Have also been to North Wales (Prestatyn). Found it a pain to get to from Devon (you don't say where you are travelling from). Didn't like the park, but there was a beautiful wildlife reserve in a massive area of sand dunes. |

west wales coast is so beautiful, and is not commercialised, Aberporth, New Quay, Mwnt, Poppit sands near Cardigan. You will see lots of wildlife from Dolphins in the summer to baby seals in september. Golden beaches, rock pools, clear sea, gorgeous scenery, cliff top walks, and lots of self catering, caravans and chalets. I lived around that area for 10 years and only left to go to Spain, which only lasted 3 years but that is another story. you cant go much wrong if you go there and you wont regret it. have fun |

I am ashamed to say that as a native of Wales I have never really explored it properly. There are many lovely places, the Gower peninsular, The carmathenshire coast not to mention the beacons. check out visitwales.com and you should find all you need.
