Where to go on holiday? Personal Favourites - UK / Europe.?

Leaving from London, cheapish, country side, nice pubs, fishing, walking, nice restaurants and nice people. In October, some live music would be a nice bonus. It could be the Uk, Ireland or somwhere cheap n' continental - tell me your personal favourites!

Go to Cornwall. Eden is fantastic,Lots of good places to eat -
okay the weather might not be that great but there is lots to do both inside and outside.

Best place to stay is Spring Cottage in Probus.

Visit www.springcottage.co.uk

Tell the boys that Mark & Sarah sent you - we live in Essex we we just love going down there....

Exmoor is lovely. Walking, sea, pubs, countryside. Lots of accommodation from B&Bs up to 4* hotels.
It's an easy enough drive from London - M4, M5, should take about 3 hours?

I'd head off to Cornwall - relaxing, pleasant climate, lots to do (Eden project, lots of gardens, the county of the Arthurian legends - Tintagel Castle, Gozmoor Lake).

Inverness-fly up on Easyjet-book in advance as early as poss for a cheap flight. Lots of pubs with free live music most nights. Big enough to enjoy and small enough to navigate. Loads of B&Bs in walking distance of town. I stayed for 2 weeks last month. Beautiful walks along the river ness into town and boat trips to loch ness and moray firth to see dolphins. Lots of woodland and walks/casstles also. Friendly helpful folk everywhere who appreciate the tourists! Good bus service at reasonable costs-I wish I had time to do Orkney Islands as well-go on an island hop if you get the chance.

bordeaux is amazing, good out of summetime too, i stopped to buy a chain for my motorbike and wound up having to leave three weeks later when my cash ran out, been all over mainland europe and the uk and ireland and thats the best i can suggest.
Cheap and cheerful would be Arrochar forestry commission camp site on the west coast of scotland, its on the lochside, looks lovely but the fishings crap and the midges have rabies.

It's a long way from London, about 6 hours by car, but Bank End Farm, Roadhead, outside Carlisle in the Borders has self-catering cottages to let and it's a beautiful place.

The scenery is amazing, the owners are exceptionally nice and welcoming, and the cottages (there are two) are well appointed and inviting.

Lots of good walking from the farm, pubs in the nearby towns but you'll need a car, the nearest town is about 7 miles.

Cannot recommend it highly enough and can't wait to go back.

Then come to Malta. Malta is a small island in the middle of the meaditerranean, below siciliy (italy). Its cheap and great. The sun is always shining no matter the season. its always warm and beautiful. There are tonnes of pubs wherever you go. Since its an island we endoy the sea with 100s of beaches where you can fish freely. A couple of promenades surround the island with many cheap restaurants which offer a quality of food. Well you cannot go anywhere else. Malta is famous for is welcomin and warm people. Imagine Malta has its own vellage for music, fun and discos. Its called Paceville will many resturants, discos, pubs, bars, karioke's...

Come up to Scotland. You won't be disappointed. Personal favourite is Kirkcudbright in Galloway or you could try Ullapool or Oban. Fort William, Inverness Golspie , Brora, I could go on and on. I promise you, you would love it. Go on give it a try.

Well. My favourite is either Barbados, in the Caribbean or Czech Republic.
