Where would you choose to visit England, Ireland or the Vatican?

Well....I live in England....I would love to see a little more of the country, though....most of my travelling has been abroad. I have only visited Ireland once (I went to Dublin in 2006)....and I liked it there. I have heard that other parts of Ireland are beautiful.

One of the best things we did when I went to Rome two years ago was to visit the Vatican....I enjoyed looking around St. Peter's and the Sistine Chapel.

Overall, though, I think Ireland would be top of my list if these were my choices.

It would have to be Ireland.
I live in England, visited Rome and the Vatican City church (both of which were awesome and I would have liked longer there), but I've never been to Ireland.
We really should because my husband's paternal grandmother was from Cork so we should pay homage, I feel.

Well I live in Ireland and am not a Catholic so no reason to visit the Vatican, so it would have to be England, and I'm going to London on Friday, can't wait =]

1st time we went to "Europe", we had decided to take a tour of Ireland but we went to London for 5 days first & did day tours. It was very hard to choose between the two. A few years later we did Italy with 5 days in Rome. These were wonderful BUT completely different. So, depending upon your heritage, interests and what you've always wanted to see - no one can answer the question you're asking - for you. The Vatican is outstanding for architecture, art, sculptures, history & religious interests in a very broad, almost outrageous way --too big, too much, too impressive, etc.

England is full of history, pageantry, monuments and also has so many ancient places to see as well as beautiful countrysides. London is greatly different from the Lake District or Cornwall, York or Plymouth and they all impact upon America's history, laws, language & customs. We went back for another indepth vistit to England, Wales & Scotland & we loved it but can't compare it to the Vatican.

And, Ireland, our 1st choice is so different from America, it seems like a different world. We did Dublin which is kind of cosmopolitan, etc. but the best part of Ireland for us were the people - We're both of Irish heritage & it was romantic & moving for both of us.

Your decision must be your own - no one can make it for you. And, hopefully, you will get to see all three in time. I hope you do & wherever you choose to go, I hope you have a wonderful time.

Ireland. I'd love to see how different it is after I served there during the 'troubles'. (I already live in England, and the Vatican offers me nothing.)

I've been to the Vatican, so it's either England or Ireland and Ireland looks so green and amazing, I think I'd go there.
