Newquay! Surf, meet people, stay in a hostel, it's cheap and sandy but you can have a great time. Recommend later in the year though. |

The South West is great in the summer i.e. South Devon or Corwall.
Nice scenery, beaches and pubs.....
Slapton is a nice village in Devon. Do a Yahoo search for Slapton sands.
Good luck...... |

The beaches in Cornwall are amazing, coastal walks, lovely little towns to explore.
Take your rain coat though! |

Probably the North East for variety. You have fantastic countryside for walking and sightseeing, great cities like Durham & Newcastle, and smaller towns like Alnwick, Hexham & Berwick, a stunning coastline, good shopping, good nightlife, and theres Beamish. I would say stay in one of the Hotels in Newcastle, as they are of quite a good standard, but it depends on your budget as to where you can afford to stay! |

Pembrokeshire in West Wales is beautiful. There is loads to do here, beautiful beaches and coast line. Mile and miles of coast path. pretty little towns like Narberth and Newport. Great nights out in Tenby and Haverfordwest. Amazing restaurants such as the Blue Ball in Tenby and Kookaba in Saundersfoot. There are always loads of events on thoughout the year as well - check internet sites through google. |

Liverpool did, after all, win the EU title of "European Capital of Culture" 2008. |

All the places suggested are good but I would add to the list.....The Lake District and North Wales especially if anyone likes walking/hiking.
Both those areas have naturally outstanding beauty.
In terms of hotels etc......decide the area you wish to visit, your budget, and if you have no ideas about hotels then use a venue finding agency. They can source options in your chosen area and within you budget at no cost to you. They get their commission from whoever they place your business with. |

I'd suggest Wales as well, particularly the Gower peninsula area and Penclawdd. |

Liverpool....why you ask? Because of the Beatles |

'Er indoors!!

Cornwall of course!!! P.S. I visited Ireland last year, and I am sorry to say, I was disappointed. My Dad came from Connemara, and everyone kept telling me how beautiful it is, which it is, but Cornwall is far prettier. |
