In Liverpool, apart from the cavern, there is The Beatles Museum- thats located in The Albert Dock, its about 15-20 minute walk from the cavern.
Also you can book a tour to go in the house where John Lennon lived. It is owned by tourist board and has lots of good things in there from pictures he drew to school reports.
There is also a magical mystery tour bus, which takes you all around the city taking you to all the above mentioned and a lot more.
The Albert dock (where beatles museum is) also has lots of interesting things there, a lot of history as it is a sea port, you can go on a ferry trip (very cheap), good depending on weather.
There is Walker Art Gallery and Liverpool Museum.
All the above is within walking distance of each other (except John Lennons house, but the magical mystery tour bus will take you there.
There is also 2 football stadiums in the same area Liverpool and Everton.
There is a lot of work going on at the moment in Liverpool. We are the Capital of Culture in 2008 so a lot of building and road work going on.
No matter where you go or what you do in Liverpool, you will have a fantastic time. Enjoy. |

If your talking about touring Liverpool, You could take them on the Ferry across the Mersey, A trip to Liverpool Football Club and go on a Stadium and Museum Tour. See the sights of Liverpool in the Radio City Tower (450 ft) above the city centre. We have 2 cathedrals,a Beatles Tour Bus that goes to various spots around the city Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields etc. The Albert Dock is very nice with restaurants, shops, Tate Gallery and a bus the drives around the dock and then into the water. These are just a few suggestions but there are many i have not mentioned,(Try Merseyside Tourism Board for more ideas).
Hope this helps........
Can i have the 10 points please |

Go to the lake district it's beautiful and I know a lot of Americans love the quaint village places. Even if it's just for a day looking around Windermere. |

From Liverpool a few days in the Lake District then on to Scotland and come back down via York and Oxford.
Should keep them busy and a good mix of areas. |

If they like The Beatles, Cavern City tours do a tour of all the Beatle sites in the city on the original Magical Mystery Tour bus. Well worth it. The bus leaves from Albert Dock near The Beatles Story museum. |

Go to Abbey Road in London for the Beatles thing.
If possible try to take in Oxford, Bath and York. Of course, if they want Britain and not just England you'll have to take them to Wales and Scotland too! |

I took some english friends up there and they were blown away so you american friends will have their socks blown off!!

Take them to a restaurant that DOESN'T do fast food. They'll be so bored with the waiting time, but they'll (hopefully) appreciate the taste and the lack of grease. Good luck |
