Woolacombe in North Devon - went there last year and it was by far the best beach that I have ever been to.

If you want sandy beaches, Bournemouth is the only place you'll want to be, once you've been there.

Weymouth Dorset.

Flagbearer
Hive Beach, in Dorset, during the 1940s, the British and Americans practiced the D-Day landings at that beach. Also, what was the name of that beach where that cargo ship ran-agound? if you want some trinkets, best go to that one!

Being Northern, I would have said Freshfield, but that's a beach only good enough to dig holes in the sand!

sarch_uk
Northumberland is superb...

Trevor
Sandwood Beach in Scotland - it's very secluded which is the best thing about it and has amazingly clean golden sand.
