Edinburgh is the place to go. It's got a wee bit of everything. History and culture, good restaurants, theatres, brilliant shopping, plenty to see and do.

Depends what you want to do? If you want the touristy side visit Edinburgh. It has great shops, restaurants and bars and lots of attractions to visit. For sheer beauty and tranquility I recommend Isle of Skye. When the weather's good the driving is superb. It has a lovely distillery in Carbost called Talisker. |

Aberdeen , if you want to travel that far, good food, nightlife, shops and you can do the tourist thing of Royal Deeside or travel 102 miles up to Inverness to see the monster. |

Edinburgh has a bit of everything. It is also stunningly beautiful. Take a walk around Salisbury crags and Arthur's Seat.
For scenery....eh...take your pick. It's all nice. |

Fort William and Lochaber areas are great, secenery is beautiful and people are friendly. Here in Aberdeenshire we have lots to do as well, we have Slaines Castle(10 minutes form my house) where Dracula was based, Aberdeen is great for nightlife, Balmoral Castle, Falconry Centre at Huntly, the list is endless. |
