As are all the Art Galleries - Tate, Tate Modern, National Portrait.
All the parks and commons are free - Regent's, Hyde, Richmond, Victoria, Battersea, Clapham, Peckham Rye.

Just riding around on the top deck of a double decker bus (free if you have a Travelcard) or walking along the Thames - South Bank to Pool of London, St Katherine's Dock through Wapping to Canary Wharf, Richmond to Kew, or cycle along the canals and the Lea Valley north from Limehouse Basin to Paddington or Cheshunt.

London is awesome. I've loved my time here.
Hi, Here's what I always pass along re: what to see in London!
Wear good walking shoes because London is a superb walking city. Bring a good map of the city and begin. Be a happy tourist and first hop on one of the major red double decker tour buses which afford you a perfect overview of London and you can "hop on and off" as often as you please...some for two days! I love www.theoriginaltour.com ! Highlights (see www.londonwalks.com): National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Tate Modern Museum, London Eye, Covent Gardens (great shops n restaurants), St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, see a play!, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Tower of London.
Know London has many beautiful parks which can be your oasis when needing a rest. Kensington Gardens in one of the world's wealthiest areas - See Princess Di's Kensington Palace and shop Kensington High St. and wander up Church St. for boutiques and such. Nearby: Royal Albert Hall, Science Museum, Natural History Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum. Hyde Park connects to Kensington Gardens. Explore Chelsea for boutiques as well. St. James Park - beautiful, sole restaurant inside. Green Park - high tea at the Ritz, Fortnum & Mason, Picadilly Circus (think Times Square). Shopping streets: Oxford, Bond, check for weekly markets...BUY "TIMEOUT LONDON" weekly magazine. Boat trip on the Thames - a must. Don't forget - you can take the EUROSTAR Chunnel train to Brussels or Paris for day trips (2.5 hrs +/- each way!) Hope this helps. Have a fantastic time! :) |

Below is the list of most popular places to visit in London. Most are free but you can always admire from the outside. |

Check out some of the TV/radio shows being filmed - they're free and you can get some tickets to some good ones. A favourite of mine is the BBC radio comedy stuff being recorded.
I'm suprised no one has mentioned Covent Garden - the street actors and artists are AMAZING, and really good fun.
There's also Portabello (sp?) market which has a great atmosphere and pretty cheap to buy stuff too.
If you want to be touristy check out the Changing of the Guards (normally around 11 am every morning ) out side the palace.
The Princess Diana memorial used to be interactive - not sure if it still is. But its like a big water feature for people to play in.
Tate modern's free and a bit of a laugh - I find it hard to take seriously but some people really enjoy it.
Just walking around London in the early evening before everyone piles into the theatres and restuarants is just lovely....
ah I love London! and it doesn't need to be an expensive experience!! |

Some tousrist visit Big ben, london tower, and you could go around the london with just bus pass and youll see the architecture.....i dont think the sightseeing bus is okay because its expensive...if you get just a normal traveling pass it will be better because plus you can go around london..its adventure to learn the transpotation(better if you know someone to show you around) live here in England. |
