Ive been to Carnarvon Castle about three times, and enjoyed just leisurly being there.
Until last summer, when I went again with my daughter and two grandchildren age 5 and 3.
It was a lovely day, and we were just sat on the grass, when the man from the booth where you pay, came out and started waving his arms and shouting at us to get off the grass, and it wasnt allowed.
It wasnt a problem when Ive been there before, and we wont be going again.
But to answer your question. I like Conway Castle, though its a bit dangerous to climb up and walk round.
I also loved York Minster.
Id love to travel to all the places mentioned, because I just love the history of it all.
How were they able to build such magnificent buildings without our modern technology, when all we can build are high rise ugly boxes. |

i don't remember castles specifically, i wanted to climb on the ruins, and they were all so touristy. but i looooved York, it reminded me of a storybook, with the small buildings, and cobblestone streets, and those tiny lampposts, i felt like jack he ripper was gonna get me at any minute, plus i really liked all the street vendors, so cool. York was my favorite, and we were everywhere! and i mean everywhere. ooh and london tower rocked, it was so creepy! and i agree with the person who talks about st pauls, it really is breathtaking, if you go to the top of the dome, and talk quietly into the wall, everyone on the catwalk up there can hear you loud and clear if they put an ear to the wall, super cool, and kings college has a life sized chess board, its like being alice in wonderland |

Hiya sweetie :o) xx I love St Pauls Cathedral - it is so beautiful and breathtaking. I used to work near there when I lived in London! It's stunning and gorgeous - what a fabulous building! xxx
EDIT: on a totally different note - I just LOVE the gherkin tower in London too - it's really modern and funky, and quite beautiful in its own way. I know it's not to everyone's taste - but I think it's gorgeous!! xx |

I agree with others choice of York minster, Edinburgh Castle.
Please do not overlook the modern masterpiece of Christ the King, the Catholic Cathedral in Liverpool. The simple design is so breathtaking, and the glass in the lantern tower is truly amazing. |

I like Ludlow Castle (Shropshire). Its high up in the town overlooking the surrounding hills and the River Teme and the rest of Ludlow's architecture is exquisite. |

Got to agree with speigy, Bamburgh Castle is a beautiful place,as is the beach, but for internal beauty it has to be Alnwick Castle, home of the Dukes of Northumberland, followed closely by Cragside at Rothbury, the first building in the world to be lit by hydro electricity.
Durham Cathedral and York Minster are also awesome. |

My favourite is Portland Castle. It's a compact fort built to defend Portland Harbour from the French and Spanish by Henry VIII. |
