Which areas of London are the most dangerous of being mugged, raped or even killed?

Also, is camden town safe in the night? I mean the area where all the bars, pubs and clubs are.

On the other hand, which areas of London are the safest to live in?

The most dangerous areas are Tottenham,Stoke Newington,Hackney,Kentish Town,Stockwell,Camberwell, Peckham.. The safest are generally the affluent middle class suburbs.
Of course you could be attacked or robbed anywhere and the most dangerous areas are not necessarily dangerous at all.
Your risk of being attacked are much greater if you obviously wear lots of jewellery and or an expensive watch. If your clothes indicate wealth and if you are out very late at night.
You definitely stand a much greater chance of being burgled
in the areas I list though.

I hear Buckingham Palace is a bit rough.
There have been loads of murders and rapes in the East End too. Just steer clear of anyone called Mitchell.

a nutcase, could be in any part of london, you could get killed.raped mugged anywere, dont matter about the area, nutcases are everywere these days. i suggest you go visit there arear your planning on moving to and just spend a few hours there ask a few people, you will get a feel for the area and can decide for yourself. just dont as the estate agent this question he/she will move you in to a cracktown just to make a commision.

Mr Bad Boy
Like any city in the world, the £3.5 million houses are in the safest areas. The low rent areas are the dangerous ones.

I've lived in London for 15 years, go to gigs, bars, clubs, use public transport, including nightbuses - I've never even seen a crime, let alone been the victim of one. And that includes frequent trips to Brixton and Camden.
Of course I know people who have been victims of crimes- but it's been burglary, bags stolen, cars broken into - not very nice but not violent.

If you want to avoid the 'dangerous' places don't wander around the council estates - but why would you be doing that anyway?

Each area has its own problems. Rich areas are more at risk from muggings as people think that you have more money, which isn't necessarily so. If you are involved in drug or gang culture, then again, a high risk. If you go out and get drunk, you are more at risk than if you stay sober. If you are sensible, then you should be fairly safe. If stupid, no matter where you live, you are more likely to become a target.

DolceVita is back!!
I'd say Camden is pretty risky, i live not too far from there. Lots of junkies and dr ug pushers around there

Brixton and Peckham are the most dangerous.
Rest are ok.

no where is safe really.... hackney can be dangerous though from experience

Brixton and Peckham are the most dangerous areas in London. I would say why but I don't want to be accused of being racist cos I'm not.

The safest areas are generally outer London, like Havering, Redbridge, Hillingdon, Bromley etc.
