Yeah - it's good for the water table in the south - hosepipe bans will no doubt be in force soon - time to move up here to Scotland!

cosmic_quest
It's great but it would be even better if I was off instead of working! I just hope it stays like this for the weekend. It's about time we got some decent weather as, last year, summer was quite pitiful.

Too hot for me... but I love thunderstorms and this heatwave should end in a biggie!

Just hope it isn't when I'm at Farnborough Airshow on Saturday

Anyone want an ice-cream?

sonia
well its nice to have the warmth and sunshine, but this is just too hot and we are not used to it. i am at home now but our office is not airconditioned so i empathise with you all out there.

i love it! especially since i'm in scotland and it's so rare. my poor puppy hates it tho...

Sun M
yes.

poggle_63
Just a little bit too hot for me. I wouldn't mind so much if I lived near the sea. I don't want to complain too much as I live in the pennines and is rains lots here. I don't want the rain back just yet.

bubble_rose_fairy
I like it but with a slight breeze.

I hate it - its too hot, wouldn't be bad if there were light winds to go with it - cooler indoors

I like this weather every now and again. It has been nice the past few days because in Hertfordshire where I am, because there has been a tempering breeze which has taken the edge off the temperatures.

I wouldn't want this all the time. The reason Britain is a 'green and pleasant land' is because the weather changes so often. One day wet, the next day gloriously sunny. Winter can be rainy one day, and balmy and springlike the next.

What I would like to see now is a couple of days of persistent rain, especially in the parched south-east (though not next weekend when my brother is having a barbecue!) Clear the air, bring some relief and water those gardens and cash crops.

Yes, it is lovely, but i tell you, we will suffer in the Winter. We always do when we have a good summer.

TEACAKE
We are so contrary when it snows and we are digging our way out of the drive we are whining and when we are in the middle of a heat wave we are whining we are never happy. We are a nation of wind and rain lovers we just love weather the worse the better so we can avoid discussing real issues or expressing our feelings.

i like it, just wish i wasn't at work.

frustrated_mess
It would be ok if we were used to it - if we were prepared, with air conditioning etc. - but when we get it for one week per year it is a nightmare, I haven't got the energy to do anything!

Same thing when it snows, the country grinds to a halt because we don't have road clearers in place.

But other countries seem to cope ok. I've been in Ottawa, Canada, when it was -50 and another time when it was +36 and on both occasions the city residents carried on as if nothing was out of the ordinary.

AndyB
NO! I hate it! It's too bloody HOT!

We aren't built for this sort of weather, I much prefered it when it was tipping it down and in minus temperatures. I can cope with the cold, I can't function in the heat.
