Why did you move to Belfast in the first place? Surely you must have known that Belfast was a place of unrest and uncertainty. Belfast like many others places in Ireland have deep seated ideology due to religious bigotry. It is only now emerging out of the dark ages and is a great place to live. With people who have a great sense of humour and fortitude, not unlike Londoners.

No! not a rubbish place but a place that has suffered greatly from oppression and hatred and these sort of things take years to put to rest. I would have thought you of all people would have understood this.

?
Worked on and off in Ireland for 20 years, the place is great. We make jokes about the Irish being thick....I HAVE NEVER MET A THICK ONE YET!!!
They operate at 2 gears slower than us in the UK, while we run around like headless chickens they are stood at the bar watching life go by and relaxing! something most people have forgot how to do!
Don't knock the place until you have been elsewhere.

Paddy
state your reasons for Belfast vbeing rubbish, you haven't stated anything but red herrings!!!

People who have not made the effort to go out a bit and live I suspect might think of the place as "rubbish". There is plenty to do and see, friendly folk(mostly), like any big city , but different. Great Ulster frys. Life is what YOU make it.

I have never been there, but this sounds like a case of different horses for different courses, just because it does not suit you does not make it a rubbish place, just not suited to you. Please don't insult people's home just because you did not like it.
