PS. Leave if you hate it so much... |

Dont squat with spurs on!

Charlie Farlie, the question was not about England, it was about the UK all around! for goodness sakes, i hate it when people from different countries think that the UK is JUST ENGLAND! Arrgh! there's wales, scotland and northern ireland too!
as for the question, yeah the weather is pretty bad most of the time, but we have the NHS! think about it, in other countries such as the US, you would have to PAY for getting treated in hospital! it's quite cheap, but there are these stupid stereotypes. >:l
again please people, don't call the UK england, it really bugs people. |

I love my country and am very proud of who i am. True we are in a bit of a mess right now but we'll deal with it the best way we know how. Stiff upper lip, don' le the b*stards grind you down and Have a cup of tea if it all gets too much. Neighbours need to help neighbours and communities need to band togther. Rule Brittania!!!!! |

Im fine here, its just that we have a useless government presently who are sitting on their hands, or wringing them which is worse, and saying and doing nothing about the multiple problems we face. If you think its hell here, then try Burma, China, or any say communist country that has no room for its people. |

There is nothing wrong with England, except its become the breeding ground for the Scum of the world. This has been allowed to happen by highly educated people that went to university, and have large brains with no common sense, |

I love the UK and it will always be my home and I am grateful that I was born here, but I can't help finding all the cost hikes depressing, there's no way I can afford to buy a house on my own. |

Lots of things about living in the UK may drive you crazy, but after spending years living in other countries, on balance, I think it's a better than average place to live. |

The UK is great, you have somewhere to go from anywhere there, and you don't have to travel for hours & hours!! I emigrated to Canada, and it's an OK place too, sometimes, but I come 'Home' every year! You can afford to have trips to any part of Europe, any time..even for a week-end. In Canada you have to plan your trips for ages, 'cause it's so big & everything is so far apart. You have great public transportation & the NHS!! We don't! True, your house prices are insane, and a lot of your Governments policies, have put Good Ole England, in a bit of a crunch, hopefully that can be sorted out, before all the English leave! And Wales, Scotland & Ireland are near & beautiful too!! You tend not to see the good things when you live in a place, especially if you have never lived anywhere else, or if you are American & used to being spoilt!! LOL! |

I live in one of the major cities of the United Kingdom and its a lovely place to be in. However for the amount of money i have i could have a much larger house in the United States or Canada. The U.K. is the most taxed nation on the plannet.
The weather is a bit rubbish, its currently a thunderstorm here.
By the way. The United Kingdom is made up of 5 areas, England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. England only accounts for 1/2 of the United Kingdom totaly land of about 300,000sqk. I hate it when i go to the United States and they notice i have a British accent and they say i am from England. I am not from England i am Welsh! Its like saying your a New Yorker but you live and born in Texas. |

I'm living abroad at the moment, and enjoying it, but I can't see myself staying abroad for ever. I'll be coming back to Blighty one day.
When people say it sucks, I assume they're living in a horrible place. There are loads of horrible places to live there and there are loads of really good places to live.
People think the place is crime ridden, and yes, crime is a problem in some areas, but definitely not all. If the guy who posted this question lives in a crap area, then he needs to move. What's the point in staying in a crap area?
I've travelled, seen a lot of the world and believe me, you get horrible places just about everywhere, even in idyllic sounding places - they've all got their skeletons in the cupboards. So if you're living in a place which you think sucks, you need to get out of it and the way to do that is to work hard, study hard, get a good job and earn shedloads of cash.
Just sitting there grumbling that something is crap isn't going to change anything. |
