Americans are composed of many peoples from many places.
Maybe the ones you talk to are arrogant to you because you are ignorant.

Now come on everyone! lets have a nice group hug. I'm a Brit and I've yet to meet an american that is louder than me! I'm sure one exists somewhere! Now we can't go around holding old fashioned stereotypes in our heads otherwise all brits would be stuffy snobs with bad teeth, all americans would be loud arrogant capitalists, all french people would be ignorant and smelly, all germans would be nazi sun bed stealers who don't shave their pits etc etc I could go on. Lets all share the love and hug trees!

Having traveled around the world a lot, I can say that rude, loud, opinionated, and arrogant people are everywhere.

National pride is common with all people, and it is a good thing. But, some people take it too far.

I think you might be hanging out with the wrong people.

I am proud to be an American! I've lived overseas and I think that there are some really beautiful places outside of the US as well as in Other countries and the people are equally as nice (most...lol)...I was exposed to many different people during my time in Europe. I had many people voice their opinions to me about how they think Americans are...Rude, selfish, spoiled and what have you. What it really boils down to is Steriotyping without first hand knowledge. If you have never lived here or become friends with any Americans then you are seriously uneducated and have limited resources other than opinions to say we are all so arrogant and loud. Educate yourself before believing everything you hear.
