it is the last bastion of dictatorship, this is an issue that needs to be dealt with immediately, they are daylight robbers and must be stopped. it makes me physically sick to see the prices these parasites charge the daily motorist.

the_deadly_assasin
It is true they have no competition, but you can always leave at an exit of your choice. The main reason they claim is because of delivery problems/access, they are out of the way and hard to reach without going up and down the motorway. However the real reason is that most commercial travellers, sales reps etc, CLAIM their expenses back, so the company they work for actually pays, their logic is it is not my money I don't care. If they actually thought about this and everybody brought their expenses down the company would benefit and may pass some reward on to the employee, more time off, pay rise etc. Highly unlikely but possible.

Have you tried to buy one?

dixidan_2000
Because they know there is no-where else to go so you will pay their prices.

laplandfan
I wont pay their disgraceful prices. £8.50 for a cooked breakfast.
Last time I went to one was 10 years ago and got ripped off then. Paid 8 pounds for 4 kitkats and 4 cokes.

Cos they have the monolopy, where else can you go for a pee and a sarnie!

k9counsellor
Because you're stuck with them! When you really need to fill up you just have to stop and fill up. Were there supermarkets alongside motorways ... This would open up competition but as it is ... Service stations can charge you as much as they like and make a mint simply because we don't have any other choice but to pay what they charge us!

i dont know but i cant beleive the robbin gits make you pay if you want to get your head down for a few hours

El Cid
Captive customers. Take your own sandwiches and pork pies. Ooops! I meant halal pies.

peppermint.spaghetti
because they are the only shop there so thay can charge what they like, no competion.

like people say were else can you get a drink and rest., i now take a flask and sandwiches and stop at services just for the use of toilet, and i don't spend 1 penny.
