I have found pleasant people in all parts of the United Kingdom & I have also found rude people all over the UK, which category do you fall into? |

They're not. There are rude and unpleasant people in all countries. The people of North Wales tend to be rather less friendly to the English than those in the south.
Perhaps that is what you are thinking of - mutual dislike of some ficticious stereotyped Englishman - and confusing it with "niceness" towards you..
There are also very polite and courteous people in all countries. |

I am welsh and me best mate from england I say she is more pleasant then me but i think ino what ur trying to say and i think its because wales is a country and is more peaceful and that then england that is bigger and more people so yer i think your right but not all people are the same. and the one who says she was treated coldly not all people in wales are bad . |

I don't think they are. My father was Welsh and I was born and brought up in London. When my father died, I toured Wales and was treated very coldly by just about everyone. I tried telling them that I was half Welsh but they wouldn't have it. |

depends where you are in the equation...
the welsh are wonderfull people... as are the english...
but to each other.? at the borders its a bit wiered....
and soth wales.? thats another story...
we [english] worked in cardiff on a job, and some welsh bois had a go at us.. so we had a talk with them, and it turned out they thought we were from north wales.... when they found out we were from england, they where ok with us... now work that out..
but, working all over the uk as we do... mostly we get on ok with most people... its only ignorance that causes any trouble...and that generally brought on by some kind of shiitstirrer who dont know the half of it. |

There're pleasant and rude people everywhere. I work in a call centre phoning people all over the UK, and I have to admit we tend to find Londoners more abrupt than anyone else, in too much of a rush, and we tend not to like phoning people in Northern Ireland - not because they're unpleasant, but a very large number of people there have accents that are so thick we (based in the NW/North Midlands) find it very difficult to understand them! People in the Irish Republic tend to be easier to understand... |

the welsh are more pleasant than the english because the english tend to act more arrogant and all knowing than us.
The truth is that they think they are better because of things that are now insignificant, (these things include once being an empire, winning the rugby and football world cups amongst other things) make them better people. The times i heard "Yeah but We won a World Cup," to which the usual reply is "Uraguay won it twice, so they must be better than you." They believe that without them that the rest of the uk would fall into disarray, which is untrue.
Wales on the other hand have had the rough end of most things, being conquered, being not particularly good at sports, towns being flooded to supply watter to england.
In summary, the welsh are nicer because we've had the worst of life and we turned it into hope, hope that one day we will become a separate nation again. |

The English tend to be more formal and class conscious. They are not rude. The Welsh on the other hand are very egalitarian. They will not let one put on airs without calling them to account. If you encounter a rude English person, they either feel you are above your class or have committed a faux pas. With the Welsh, you came on a bit uppity. |
