I don't see how the UK is overpopulated? London is no more crowded than New York or LA.

Stinks? Not sure where you got that from but the slums and less desirable areas in the US out number that of the UK.

USA - a mere infant when you consider the history. Theres nothing particulary interesting about American history when compared to anything in Europe.

Ok, you have a lot more money, but look at how its spent......on pointless wars that you cannot win, eg: Vietnam, Iraq, etc.

And your money......not worth so much anymore is it.

The british are a very proud people with a long history. I have been to england many times, enjoyed it greatly, I don't know why you have this opinion. Britain is also our greatest ally at the moment, best not to piss them off.

Try talking about america's attributes instead of bashing other nations, use some diplomacy in your responses too. People will be more accepting of your opinion if you have a little tact.

America has only been around for a couple of centuries. Our national origins are really quite different, so you're comparing apples to oranges.

I am English and proud of it. I am writing this in my hotel room in Texas.

Everthing is bigger over here (especially your butts!) not necessarily better. After all why would they need to fly an English engineer over the pond to fix a (American) machine.

Tried to find a store selling beer......nope Irving is a dry city, had to drive over the city limit by about 50 metres to buy it. Alchohol in a restaurant OK, buy alchohol out of the city and bring it in OK. But buy it in Irving no dice...how stupid is that?

Have you been outside London? Frankly I'm amazed you ever left the 'good ole USA', most Americans don't even have passports (and only leave America to invade or bomb another country) let alone know where Europe is.

If you come to the UK again try going to the Lake district or Scotland to see the real beauty of the country. Yes London is crowded and dirty but so are LA and New york and most other major cities in every country of the world.

Or better still keep your bigoted *** in the US

I would agree that parts of inner cities in the UK are full of pollution but to tar the whole of Britain with the same brush is just plain ignorant. Do you really think that people are living in huge tower blocks in the highlands of Scotland or the moors? Of course not. Why do so many Americans come over to discover their heritage if they hate it so much. And as for pollution, the huge gas guzzling cars the Americans drive are a joke. At least we use the bus and don't think we're a failure if we don't have a car.

i live in scotland and we have a population that is smaller than londons, it is also one of the cleanest countries there is and has some of the cleanest air that you can breath. scotland is also part of great britian. (i know americans have some really bad geography so thought id better clear that up for you). you answered your own question there though didnt you, if everything is bigger then surley that means bigger populations therefore overpopulated, bigger filth therefore a dirtier country. you obviously have not been here as im sure your narrowminded arrogant opinion would change if you had.

Overpopulated and Pollouted???? Maybe the cities like yours, however the country is beautiful and a lot more pleasant than the US, diversity wise you cant beat it, the towns and villages of this fair land are fantastic, unlike your straight lined hicksvilles, also most of our populace are not inbred gun tooting racist fanatics.
However each country is excellent in its diversity.

How about we set the record straight for everybody? Can we say "stereotypes?" There is and has been filth, litter/pollution, and overpopulation in just about every major city in every country in every age in history and present times. These are usually offset by being centers for learning, culture, and research. Also, your experience of visiting a country is influenced by your own personality (if your looking for filth, you will always see it!), and where you visit in the country. The experience is different between London and the Scottish countryside or NYC and rural upstate NY or the Smoky Mountains in Tennesee/North Carolina. Additionally, the people of the USA have many different viewpoints and experiences given that there are peoples of many races, ethnicities, religions, and sexual orientation, etc. From visiting Europe, I have found the same to be true.

that's odd, there are plenty of british people who freely admit the same thing, perhaps they just feel a bit insecure when the same criticism comes from foreigners?

What's an even better question is why are they responding here in english. Shouldn't you guys be getting ready to babble on in Farsi or one of those other languages/dialects from the middle east? I mean... I know you aren't supposed to be taken over by them until roughly the end of the century but... never to soon to start preparing right?
