I don't hate Americans at all! I had some American housemates - who were all really nice and interesting people! Crazy too - but in a good way!

I don't hate Americans, just the politicians who continue to do their best to make the world an even more dangerous place, and the fat cats who put them in power and resist any attempt to change your political processes.

In all the times I've been in the USA, I have never had cause for complaint about anything at all. In fact, I went to a 'gas' station just off Highway One in California; it was a Trading Post and the pumps were at ground level with the office upstairs and the whole building was on stilts.
I filled up with 'gas' and went up to the office where a very bright young lady asked me how much 'gas' I had put in the car?

I paid her for the amount I had taken, to the cent, and noticed that there was no metering equipment to advise her of the amount I had taken.

That is TRUST.

Haven't you just overgeneralized by assuming everyone hates Americans? I certainly don't there are good and bad in all nationalities.

It is not that americans are hated as we are "cousins". It is that after 9/11 we all grieved with you and supported the attack on afghanistan but then both our governmnts dragged us in to iraq. Personally i have met really cool americans on my travels but some are really fckin arrogant and ignorant. They kind of exude a air of being above everybody and push ideas as if they are always correct when they are not. Also a lot of importing of brand america to developing contries which is sad as instead of learning from other cultures the US want to do what britain did years ago and control them and make them adapt to your way of thinking. Another thing! I dont know where it came from but I suspect LA .....political correctness which has destryed a persons ability to think and reason for themselves. I will be a decent human being on my own accord not because i have been told by the government to do so. Anyway just trying to give you an honest answer bt dont thing your a yank as too self aware! Only joking! Every race under the sun has a-holes and the yanks have done many great things and produeced some great people!

You know how you wrote that Americans bash British people? Well, have you ever clicked onto a website and seen pages upon pages of British people bashing Americans? And, no offense, but I think British people criticize Americans a lot more.

But, I really cannot answer your question (as I'm American) and all I can say is: No all Americans bash British people and not all British people bash American people.

There are millions of citizens living in these two countries and each one has a different personality. So you really are generalizing Americans as arrogant crude idiots.

I think it's ridiculous how we have this American vs. British thing.

I don't understand why two countries (that go way back in history and share a language, although the language is not exactly the same) must constantly bash heads.

Well, I AM American so this probably isn't directed at me. I don't think the whole world hates Americans. I do think we make a convenient target for some. Some bitterness is born out of mistrust, jealously, you name it . On the other hand, we are involved in some questionable endeavors at the moment!

I also think we sometimes overstate our importance in the world...maybe that's what ticks so many people off.

Same reason you asked this question, ya know. All nations bash everything, one more than the other. Humans what more could you want......the ones that get to me are the ones who bash America but want to live the American dream, whatever this may be....these humans just take up air space,JMO

I do not hate Americans ............. When I have come across them they are very nice but for some reason when you lot are on a computer you are up yourselves .....You lot are a country of immigrants unless your a red Indian.

The more we bash eachother the worse it gets. Hey isn't this why Hitler started with the whole World War II thing? Because he hated someone for just being them? I don't mind you daying any of this because a lot of the people here abuse the freedom they recieve. And Americans have to stick their nose into everything. Why do you think Canadas not getting into trouble? Because they don't go in try to change a whole way of life and think they aren't going to get hit back. Sooner or later Canada will rule the World because every other nation has destroyed each other. So there.

personally, i feel alot of americans give the rest a bad name.
the bible belt, for instance and this over the top god worship.

for example: on the telley today was a surviver from a ferry sinking. everyone scrambled fopr a life jacket, she didn't get one but an american woman with one said to her, as she was about to die "god doesn't love you, he didn't want you to have a life jacket"..

this is why i think less of amewricans as i should. i know from yahoo answers that there are some really great americans and i have eb=ven got a few penpals from here! but it's unfortunate that the saying "god bless america" is spouted but some fanatics as if it's the centre of the universe.
