Weather is one factor but the main factor is the cost of living. It's way cheaper to live in spain then it is in britain. Also, another reason is to get away from the govt cus all they do is take, take, take.

ididntknodat
because of the climate

Big Bad Boris Mayor of London
Better weather and loads of Brits already there

Not only Spain, we left the UK in 2004 for a better quality of life having worked really hard for many years it seemed the harder we worked and the more money we earned the richer the government got. It appears to me that the only way you can win in the UK is if you are unemployed then life is a breeze. We live here in North Cyprus for a fraction of the cost enjoy a healthier diet everything here is organic you don't even need to ask. Winter still a bit cold around 10C at the moment. The majority of the Cypriots speak English and it is fun to try and speak Turkish. Summer start around March and goes on until November. So why do we leave the UK????

I don't have an answer as such, but it's ironic that people from the UK emigrate to Spain (and many don't bother to learn the language if they're settling into an expat community) because immigration to the UK, and the reluctance of new arrivals to integrate with the natives for whatever reason, is a contentious issue. I wonder what the Spaniards think...?

Badger Licker!!
We go abroad because this country is rubbish, we get penalised for everything get second peg to the hoards of immigrants that flock here for free houses etc.

The goverment in this country take take take and tax tax tax.. Plus our health system isnt too hot, the british health system pays for your health care abroad if you emigrate after your retirement age of 55.

I myself am going to Australia.
This country sucks!

Climate is not the sole reason, the pace of life is slower and quality of life better. The cost of living is less, energy bills are lower and ex-pats are entitled to free health care which is now better than the NHS. Combined with the fairly close proximity to Britain and cheap air fares Spain is a good choice for emigrees.

yes the sun could be the attraction but many dont last long they miss the cold

because its not the far away, the weather is soooooo much better and because there are so many english people there already, they dont even bother to learn spanish. so basically, they want a change of scenery. a lot of people go there to retire i think.
but i think they should start learning spanish of they move there

Mostly due to the warmer climate and it is a slower more relaxed pace of life than the u.k.

I guess it is both climate and quality of life that is most appealing. I beleive that retired people can also get their pension money in Spain, so I guess they find it easier to live there.

Weather and government mainly

Because they can sell their house's here for a packet, and buy a better & bigger house over there, & the Weather, but it's overcrowed in Spain now, and a lot of English who are over there, it's their second home & still have homes here in England.

climate and diet, but the coastal areas are now being ruined with overcrowding, overbuilding ,houses too close together smaller rooms on newer properties etc builders greed is paramount and the pitfalls are many, even bank mortgages are not safe from the rip off merchants. Many are now selling up (if they can get rid) and others are moving inland.A good second hand property is a much safer bet,ask around the neighbours, make your solicitor do a search (normally they dont ) go to the suma office at the town hall, see if there are any outstanding debts on it or plans to pull it down and re-develop,if on an urbanisation ,get a certificate off the president stating there are no outstanding charges against the house.Never buy off plan or on an infill area, always ask to see building permits before committing yourself and insist on the certificate of habitation before you pay the final amount,or you may not legally live in it or go on mains electric or water.Gc has a good point, but life is what you make it.The Spanish are a lot nicer than we are .

Because in their ignorance, they think they're heading for a better life. They are sadly mistaken, not least when they get old and infirm and realise that the Spanish healthcare system is pants compared to the UK.

justaquestion????
reason 1 weather
reason 2 imagrants
