The Union Jack is not for England, it is for the UK. Besides, it is called the Union Flag. It is only properly referred to as the Union Jack when flown aboard ship. |

The Union Jack isn't just for England it's shown to represent the United Kingdom. If you have a problem with it why don't you ask the people who sell the Union Jack or fly the Union Jack why they are doing it. Why would it bother you that much anyways? After all it's just a flag. |

You are complaining because the Union flag is for the whole of Great Britain and not just England. So it's easy to see that you don't want to share .But did you know that Saint George is the patron saint of many countries and cities .One of the Countries being Ethiopia. And he was born in what is now known as Turkey,so he would of been of a darkish skin .And the funny thing about that is most of the knuckle dragging yobs ( not saying that you are one of them ) that fly his flag or sport his tattoo if they saw him walking down the road today would give him a kicking .What do you think. |

It' a urban myth that The Union Jack is a Navel term. It can be called that anywhere. It just goes to show how people get misled by the press, and/or a piece of clothe. |

The Union Flag (the correct term) has the cross of St George in it. Usually flying the England flag alone means you are a football supporter. |

What occasions are you talking about?
But on the whole, I do agree - shops in England do seem to sell more Union Jack orientated things that St George.
Spent a day in Wales and was bombared with their dragon flag on every possible souvenier! |

Plenty of St George's flags usually at the football, rugby and cricket - where it is an English team playing rather than Britain (where the Olympic team have the union flag).
Having said that I agree with the overall tone of the question: labour government has continually run down England at the expense of the regions (some sort of misplaced empire guilt probably or maybe). Trend unlikely to be reversed with a Scottish prime minister. |
