Yawn, it doesn't always rain in the UK!

Yes, we've had some floods and some unpredictable weather (as have other countries), but for the last few years we've had some very long, hot, muggy summers during which hosepipe bans have been in force. Here in London we haven't had rain for a few days now, in spite of a few weeks of rainfall, and a hot April.

You must have picked the rainy days to visit.

It doesn't rain ALL the time! True, it rains very often, but I can remember a few days of sunshine and a few others of snow... It's just our climate.

pumpkin
yes, isn't it horrible when people are enjoying sunshine in other countries... damn!!!!

We're a small island in the north-east Atlantic Ocean, and not that far from the Arctic Circle. So what do you expect ?? Tropical breezes??

The climate in the UK is because of it's absolute location on the planet...and anyway, it hasn't rained here in my part of West Yorkshire for at least 20 hours!

sashmead2001
Because the UK happens to be surrounded by water, which in comparison to most places at the same latitude is warm (caused by the Gulf Stream), and thus evaporates easily. London is actually relatively dry compared to most places of the UK (the further west you go, the wetter it generally is).

Why it hasn't rained here for quite some time. April was rather humid and quite miserable! It's just the climate and also the location of where we are on the globe. It has to do with the ocean currents and wind currents. But I'm not going to get into all that!

I wonder

THere must be some kind of curse on London still the country is suffering from draughts.....
