The Pound is stronger than the Euro, so it makes more sense to stick to using the Pound. Also, we don't want to use the Euro! |

Because we are our own country!!!!

the £ is now probably the strongest currency in the world, why would we want to devalue it. |

One currency controlling tons of countries with interest rates governed by Brussels or wherever it is (it wouldn't be here, thats for sure), no thanks, we have enough problems with our own country let alone pass all our power over to Europe, i know the UK is part of Europe (technically!) but it would ruin everything, it would be the end of the british empire. We gotta stand strong, we're one of the strongest economies in the world, we don't need to be manipulated by those lower than us. |

because we have a strong sense of patriotism that would be ofended if we ditched our currency. I'd be like changing the flag. |

Long live the £££!! |

Because the pound is very strong right now and if we switched to euros then it would weaken the economy. |

stick with the pounds; we got the euro and now out cost of living is gone through the roof, we were ripped off, stick to your £ |

Luckily even the Governments of the last few years know it would political suicide to introduce the Euro without public approval and even though they wanted it the public has made it clear they dont. |

Why change our currency for a weaker one? When Europe eventually gets its economy sorted out of the stagnation that is effecting them, then it might be good to join but not before. |

We are a member of the EU!!... anyway we shouldn't have the euro. The pound is one of the only things this country has which is it's own. |

The Brittish £pound is 'sackin' the USA $ dollar and is worth more than the Euro, so are you still asking? duh' |

For the same reason we dont use the dollar, its foreign currency. |

Because England doesn't exist as a sovereign state just as Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland don't. If everybody in the UK, well the majority of people, wanted to join the Euro then I am sure we would. |

Because the Sun (a newspaper owned by an australian) has convinced gullible english readers that it is a bad idea and is in their interests to reject anything progressive.
Germany...........the third world bankrupt agrarian nation that is famous for being financially ignorant is a leading member of the euro...........so we must not join it
That is irony
A strong currency is a double edged sword and only really serves to bolster the ego's of those who don't understand world trade
God save the Queen (who keeps her cash in switzerland) |

There are advantages and disadvantages to a strong currency, look at my country, the US.
We can't export anything anymore for profit, so we rely on foreigners investing in our once mighty (but still strong) currency, real estate, multi-nationals, etc..
This works out well since much of the industrialized world has become wealthy investing all most exclusivily in America, and we in turn consume their cheap products or resources at an extrodinary rate.
But nothing lasts for ever, there are many reasons why the dollar will never be as strong as it was in its prime, and should weaken even more. People are prediciting 30% to 40% with the possibilty of a rough landing.
Either way, Americans are in for a rude awakening as we find our purchasing power decreased, its going to take a nation wide lifestyle change. However, if America is anything, its economically resilient and dynamic. A significantly weakened dollar could revitalize our now nearly non-existant manufacturing base as we re-carve our niche in the new world economic order. There are some great things about a weakened currency too, as crazy as it sounds. |

Vote no to the euro, but like everyone who years ago was supposed to have voted NO to Europe, the UK still joined, so eventually I should imagine the dear old £ will also have to go, just another goverment fiddle I suppose! |
