Why is England so ****?

I have thankfully moved to the Vale of Glamorgan just in between Cardiff and Bridgend after spending 15 years in Manchester, Liverpool, Battersea (london) and in Dorset working for a finance company and I have just discovered that I have been living in a country that has no morals, no politeness and the majority of people do not care about you to a place which is beautiful, the bsea less than 5 miles away the brecon beacons just up the road to nice cities and very friendly people, Happiness at last

Seeing as you feel that way about my side of the border, I assume you'll be checking everything you but in Wales and will reject or refuse to buy anything produced over here. See how long that lasts.

I think every town has its good and bad points! You are living in an absolutely gorgeous area now though.... congrats :p
I currently live on the Wirral... some very rural areas, 20 mins from the coast in Hoylakes/West Kirby, some very beautiful walks (Wirral Way etc) and only half an hour from liverpool for the city life! Best of both worlds :D
Don't think Liverpool is quite as bad as you make out... it's a really warm, vibrant city with lots of culture (hence its 'Capital of Culture' status.) Just had to big up my town there! :D
Glad you're happy now though. :)

Spooky Mouse
Yep.. its like that all over... glad your out of the city

You gave England 4 stars in your question, doesn't that mean its nice then!

maggy_dnks
The majority of cities are like that in my experience I live in the North East and I find people in the South in general have no time for you, and think they are Superior I don't know why its good tat you have found your nitch at last. But please don't judge England by the places you have lived believe you me I have had bad experiences with some funny unfriendly people in Wales but I don't judge all the Welsh because of a few. Incidentally where are you from originally?

Bye then.

Sounds to me that you consider that the grass is greener and all that, which of course it is because it never stops raining in Wales!

You are comparing industrialised places in England with countryside in Wales. No wonder you prefer the countryside. I do too... by which I mean the rural English countryside rather than semi rural and which for me is unbeatable. The pace of life is different in rural environments and so is friendliness and I rather suspect that is what you are experiencing. Its not England that is sh**..its the coldness and hostility of deprived areas and ugly cities.

There are loads of great placers in England that you have not been to,and if you have been working for a finance company you were probably working with people that were very board and depressed and gave the general impression that those places you were in were crap. But you can't tar the whole of England with the same brush or you are a fool........

the government really has ruined this country, democracy is to blame, 2 dumb guys out smart 1 brainy guy. also i reckon what we see in the paper/magazines have played a big role in the making of to days UK

Congratulations. Welcome to the better side of England, theres not a lot of it left!!

Tony
same here!! i moved from southall(west london) to newquay last summer and it has being a total change of a way of life. I have had to aclimatize myself to people being polite and actually speaking good english, spotless pavements and streets, clean healthy air to breath and spectacular views which at times can move you to tears!!! Do i miss southall...? what do you think..?

Richard
I think there is bad and good everywere but Wales seems to be more relaxed and chilled out and prettier than England at the moment but Wales countryside especailly in the South is being sucked up by Cardiff those commuter towns like Barry and Bridgend are being sucked into Cardiff. I lived in a very pretty place near Pontypridd and the people were luvly but i moved down the road 1 mile to another little settlement and there horrable people so theres good and bad everywere buddy! but i prefer Wales to England but im mostly american so i am not being biast about wales just telling you what i think and what tourists and visitors think. One Londerner told me 5 years back when Cardiff was just starting to boom, this city is starting to get everything london has got but just more chilled out and relaxed also very pretty plus the major bonos of CHEAPER LIVING.

valda54
you have no morals because you worked in finance, or did? now the heat is of,f your finding it oh so nice, holiday mode. maybe?. Liverpool people are very moralistic and polite, dispite all the media jokes of our city, and i would say that would go for Manchester also. can't speak for Batter sea or Dorset, but guess their the same. be happy in your life, but never call other people, you might be living the grand life, not all of us are so lucky, no need to be vindictive
