It's alright to insult other people but when it's directed at you, you don't like it.

I was born in Scotland, but have lived in the US since the '60s. So if I want I could move back, after doing some paperwork.

But I would probably move to Wales.

Blazing Pen Avenger.
Well, they did, during the Second World War, didn't they, and, English Ladies 'lost the plot.' Literally! Bring the Yanks over. Lovely manners, "Good Looking, so Refined." Game On!!!

Despite the notion that some people in London believe, Americans do not think about moving to London. I would never move there personally - too cold, busy, rude people. I would rather visit so get ready for more US tourism!

Oh God - please don't encourage them. It's bad enough that we have to share Answers with them, but to have to live with them too?

I'm sure some of them would, just as some Brits would like to move to the US. I think it's always a case of people thinking that there's got to be something better than what they've got, and in a lot of cases people would like to move without even having visited the other country, so they don't know if it's any better.

As an example, someone posted a question on here a couple of weeks ago saying that he was from Deptford/Lewisham (can't remember which now) and he hated it, and wanted to move to the US because he thought it would be better. Okay, but what that person failed to take into account is that that particular area of South East London is one of the worst parts of the entire country, and is in no way representative of the UK. Similarly, in most American cities there are some exceptionally awful areas.

I think reasons why Americans want to move here is that they are intrigued by our history - they're interested in the royal family, in old buildings and houses, and so on. But then I think Americans tend to be more curious about other cultures anyway.

I've lived in five different countries and can honestly say that there's an upside and a downside to everywhere. Nowhere's perfect! (Except for Singapore, which is pretty close.)

what the bloody hell for.

Well, there is a reason why the city of London is the one that host the most americans outside the USA. There are more than 50,000 living just in London at any given time. The culture, the customs, the food, the cheap flights to other european cities, etc. etc.....

I'm sure you have never visited London before, when you do, you will see for yourself what I'm talking about.

I don't really know. It seems a lot cooler. I'd like to see that statue of Winston Churchill and yeah I love British accents. Is Irealand apart of the UK? I fso I'd like to see stone hedge. Maybe live there for like a month, but not forever...I like California too much.

I'm Canadian, but I lived in the States for 5 years. If I were American, I'd be getting my skinny behind to almost ANY other civilized country. Popular opinion from most of the world says that America's days as top dog are numbered, and their economy is going for a sh*t too. Well done. Good job voting Bush in, America.

I am from New York (for the record, for some reason I get really annoyed about hearing 'America', and I never say it as the name of the country. I also dislike the term 'The States'). Anyhow, I currently live in Cambridge, UK as a post-graduate student. I like it here, it's a pretty nice place as is most of England that I've seen (Yorkshire, Norfolk, Cumbria, London, Oxford), and also, I've been to Scotland and Wales, which are really amazing. But, I don't really find the two countries (i.e. U.S.A and U.K.) very different and I am at home in both. All the places in the U.S. I've been to have been rather nice as well, and I have no complaints about either place.

annaleyah1@yahoo.co.uk
why not. everyone else does. i love yanks but why is it so hard for us to go live in other countries? it doest seem fare. its really hard to get into the US to live for UK citizens. can the transfer of population between the two be an equal exchange please? any californians or bostonians wanna swop with me? ps i dont blame you if you say no. its soggy, dark and the poletics are barely better than yours.

I think that they should want to move to the UK cos i is a much better country. The crime rate is lower and we're a richer country. America are no longer a super power, the balance of power is going to change from the west to china and india.

yeah<3
for which reason? to pay double the price on everything, sky getting dark at 3pm, cold wet conditions, reversing the way you drive?
