Would it really cost £40-50 to get to Buckingham Palace from Euston station by taxi?!!! Don't want to use tube

Additional Details
For those of you asking why not use the tube the reason is we are going to a garden party at Buckingham Palace. Would look pretty silly on the tube with my hat and new white jacket on. Also do not know London at all and would hate to get lost etc.Bit of a country bumpkin really!!!

No! It should be about 10 pound. Whats wrong with the tube???

theflame
No way! Who told you this? They must have been winding you up! If you don't want to take the tube...take a bus. A cab would probably cost you around £12 depending on traffic.

ronald575715
Why dont you just ring the taxi office and ask them for a quote. Im sure this will satisfy your mind and it is better to roll up in a taxi than walking from the tube station particullary if its pouring with rain. Enjoy your party

hollimel99
ha ha! No! The best and also quickest way to get there would be tube as they are on the same line and will take approx 10 minutes! Taxi will take a lot more due to traffic and probably cost somewhere in region of £10 - 20, again traffic depending. You could also use a bus - go to www.tfl.gov.uk and it will give you all your possible options of transport excluding taxi and then you can make the choice

...and no, you won't look silly on the tube with your hat and everything.. People in all kinds of dress travel on the tube.

Everyone is suggesting the tube, but there is no station near Buck. Palace, so take a London cab, definitely no more than £15. Don,t eat too much of Lizzies grub, think of the waistline.

No, Euston to Buck House is about £15

No, it will be about £15

No way - about £12 I would have thought.

More like £10-15 I would say unless you get stuck in horrible traffic. Get a black cab (shouldnt be a problem at Euston) as that will be quickest, minicabs are not worth the bother.

jane
All i can say is that if you are going to Buckingham Palace for a garden party then you surely shouldn't be a person to worry about money, if so, then get the queen to ask one of her drivers to pick you up....

Carrie S
Not unless they've moved Buckinham Palace to Buckinghamshire!

It should be around £10 - £15.

Get a quote from Addison Lee and book them to pick you up (nicer than Black Cabs and pre-bookable).

jimiffondu
Take the tube. It's the cheapest, most efficient, most environmentally-friendly way of getting around London.

If you are worried about "the terrorist threat', then you shouldn't be. In fact, if you let these lunatics dictate your actions, then you are playing into their hands and doing what they want.

If you're just really, really claustrophobic and can't stand the thought of tunnels... you're going to hate London...!

Take the tube, just like millions of Londoners do every day...

That sounds quite steep to me. Euston station can't be much more than 2 or 3 miles from Buckingham Palace. I should have thought £10 would be the most you'd be charged for that ride, but I'm only guessing.

Rachellie
I did read the question earlier. I think your find it's actually about £25.00 in a black taxi. Probally £15.00 in a normal mini cab, the thing is, it's getting one, the black taxi's are everywhere.

Black cab are expensive especially in London so it wouldn't surprise me. If you per-booked a cab it would probably be cheaper.
