I live in Kent and yes there are many pikies etc which have originated from Kent. A lot of them have their own language and when you hear them it is difficult to understand. Chavs are definitely more in Essex fortunately. I don't feel embarrassed to live in Kent and yes a lot of it is disappearing with encroaching housing development.

i do live there & i'm certainly no pikie or a chav,certainly not embarrassed in any way,theres good & bad areas just like everywhere else!

I am from Kent...but went to uni in Birmingham, did placement in London and now live in Sheffield. I am not at all ashamed of it though, I may move back one day, but I want to live in a number of places. i see little point in just staying where you were born.

hi,why would anyone be embarrassed living in any part of England?let alone Kent,England was,and still is a great country,and,Kent and Essex,has always being and always will be a lovely part of it,anyone living there would,and should be proud of it,and thats coming from an Irish-man,hope this has helped in some way,tom.

No not at all. Kent is a fantastic garden county full of history and beautiful scenary. Essex is a fantastic place too. chavs are in every large town and county and you cant get rid of them unfortunatley as for pikies, again they are everywhere otherwise they would not be pikies.

I'm from London but did live in Gravesend in Kent, but most of my friends live in Essex.

I'd prefer anywhere in Essex over Gravesend but would prefer Kent to Birmingham.
