I used to live there, in a predominantly pakistani area. To be honest I do not see a problem with it. The weirdest thing about it for me was going into the post office and being served by a pakistani lady in traditional dress but when she spoke she had the broadest yorkshire accent you ever heard! lol
Go for it, I would x |

A mate of mine has just moved to Bradford, jacked in an IT job in London and is currently seeking work up north.
I think if people have problems fitting in an area that is predominantly of one race it's got more to do with your attitude to them rather than their attitude towards you. |

Sorry luv - I'm one o' them namby pamby decadent Sootherners - couldn't be seen dead living north of Oxford.
But if I did want to put on my galoshes and furs and load up the dogsled and go careering off for an expedition among the chilli folk oop North, I might well visit Bradford because I've been to much worse places and there's a lovely park by Manningham Lane with a good art gallery in it - or there was when I was last there.
And isn't there the original Harry Ramsdens somewhere round that area? So there you are! Bradford can't be all bad can it?
What Pakistanis? So what? Just because you are a different colour, or wear different clothes, does it mean you can't be lived with? Most of the people you mention are British.
And it would probably depend on the house and the amenities - pub - shops - sports - trees - grass - theatres - cinemas etc etc - rather than whoever the neighbours were. People are people wherever you are. |
