I grew up on the outskirts of Brighton, it's obviously a tourist attraction which makes it pretty pricey, but it is a wonderful place to live. I visit home regularly and love it. I hope to move back sometime in the future.

Jake - you're an ****. You say people who say Brighton rocks haven't spent a lot of time there; you were there a month. That's not long enough to say it's a **** hole.
Personally, I wouldn't live anywhere else. It's vibrant, full of life, and the fact it's by the sea is awesome. Sussex itself is beautiful; it's on the coast, there's Beachy Head with the Seven Sisters, we're surrounded by countryside. And I've lived here all my life.
Basically - don't listen to Jake. There's nowhere that's for everyone, but I do truly love Brighton.

Not if you are running away from your problems coz they will just follow you.

However Brighton is a good enough place as any to move to.

Brighton is a way of life, I lived there for a year. The best thing about Brighton is that it's ok to be different. I love it.

I spent a month house sitting there in the summer. The facade is pleasant enough but underneath Brighton is riddled with drug addicts and weirdo's. Personally, I wouldn't let a dog of mine live there.

The 'London by the sea' tag is utter nonsense. Move away from the sea front and its a fairly grubby experience that is hideously over-priced. It has loads of restaurants, but it will cost you a fortune to work out which ones are worth eating in, which is about 10 - 15% of them.

I doubt if any of the above people have actually spent any significant time there.
