Umm .. no .. why would it be easier. If you cant understand us then keep away.

By the way .. this is a UK and Ireland site .. if you dont understand us then go talk on the USA site?? Just an idea.

And personally I really cant stand a lot of the American accents anyway.

Funny how everyone speaks ENGLISH though.

1.) British colonies spread the English language throughout the world - think New Zealand and Australia and other countries in the Commonwealth, as well as good old America. The expansion of the British Empire has spread and developed the English Language throughout the world. It's only recently that media developments have expanded the accessibility of the English Language.

2.) Every nation has their own bands, movies and TV shows.There is enough room in this world for all of them. Life is about diversity and learning, not forcing everyone to do just one thing, behave in one way.

3.) Who is 'they' in 'They can easily understand us due to globalization of American culture, but we can barely understand them!'. Surely 'they' can easily understand you due to English lessons rather than 'globalization of American culture'? And maybe if you listened you'd understand a bit better. It's surely your own ignorance that you can't understand them?

4.) If you compared the size and population of America to Britain, you'd see how amazing it is that the English language (that's right, the language from England) has managed to become the lingua franca, when America - such a vast country in comparison - has only altered the English language rather than having their own.

Logic has escaped you as has a sense of humour (With a u) You actually mean if eveyone spoke American type English. Possibly with a Bronx accent. The World might watch your movies (films) but they are, in the main, dubbed into the language of the exhibiting Country. You should get out into the World more; you are not as influential as you suppose.

Just because we watch your movies, TV shows etc. only means that is your area of expertise not that we want to be like you. Everyone deserves to have their own culture.
I doubt you would want this if we said "lets all talk japanese" since they have great technology etc.

So there's only one American accent is there? I suppose that one is yours. You are not doing much for the impression people outside the States have of Americans re. their arrogance, and also I think you are confusing language and accent somehow?? Your question doesn't really make sense unless you assume the world speaks English (not American) Americans still speak English, not American. You may speak French with an American accent, but you don't mean that do you? And don't the States watch movies from any other country? No UK imports? so you want us to dub the accent like those terrible adverts, so the language is the same but the accent is different? Or is what you are saying that the world should speak ENGLISH as opposed to French, German, Spanish etc. but English with an accent not originally attributed to English, i.e. in some American twang? Or are you ignorant enough to think that the whole world speaks English but in different accents and you just want them to speak that one language in the same accent i.e. YOURS? There is life outside your town you know - and get ready for this - life outside your state - and even bigger shock - life outside the States, and you aren't the centre of the world for everybody. And you wonder why people want to bomb the heck out of you Yanks for being arrogant. What ever can they mean. You may be a troll but people on here believe what they read, they believe people like you exist and you are turning a lot of people against the States by silly stupid ill thought out questions like this. Absolutely not! I like to hear the different accents of English-speaking people. Besides, you can't really define THE American accent because we as Americans have different dialects and accents in itself in different parts of the country.

you are ignorant towards other cultures you have no culture yourself .believe it or not there are countries on this planet like england where im form that have been here for thousands more years than your country and have alot more to be proud off plus you speak our language so really it should be up to us who uses it in any way.
