Congratulations. You are officially the dumbest person I've ever heard of.

Brandon G
You're kidding, right? The Japanese bombed pearl harbor and it wasn't in 1987 - it was in 1941.

bghoundawg
japanese bombed pearl harbor on dec.7,1941.....

It was the Japanese; a surprise attack in the early morning hours; the tourists flock to the Arizona Memorial all day, every week, thousands of time a year; I pass by the Memorial every day on my way home; the site has been expanded to accommodate more tourists; many weep while they are visiting; after all, it is a grave site and many have been overcome with emotion. When you are in the memorial, you are required to be quiet and show the utmost respect for the dead. It has such an eerie calmness about it; yet most revered; don't know if tourists have felt bitter, after all, many of them who visited may have had ties to it. It is one site that should be visited! Me Ke Aloha

The Chinese and Germans bombed Pearl Harbor in 1987? Mmm maybe they are bitter that you are accusing them of an act of war. Keep reading the history books my dear.

John M
Gee, the poor old Chinese just got another brickbat. Read your question again. It was the Japanese and it was over 60 years ago and tourism is just fine. But, thanks for the 2 points !

Vivian D
Seriously? Pear Harbor got bombed again? Wow. I didn't notice it.

mclewis_13
Are you serious? 20 years ago? lets see 2007-1941= 66 so you are a little off there. And it was the Germans? They must have been using their Land Aircraft Carriers with Extreme Luftwaffe Gas Tanks that were made from Kryptonium. What planet are your from? What war was this in 1987? As far as tourism goes, the Japanese are some of the biggest supporters of the Arizona Memorial and tourism in general. Most companies send their young executives to hawaii in order to get married and have their honeymoon. In fact most of the tourism here is geared strictly for the Japanese.

James
it was like 66 or 67 years ago and the japanese bombed it

Is this supposed to be funny?

Pearl Harbor was bombed on December 7th, 1941 by the Japanese. Check out the wikipedia post as I think you may want to do some additional reading on this subject.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attack_on_Pearl_Harbor

And as for lasting animosity, my experience is that most Americans accept the actions of past generations as just that...the mistakes of the past. Holding modern-day Japan accountable for something that happened over 60 years ago just isn't something that happens in my experience.

soccerref
Nope....you're still wrong.

Pearl Harbor was only bombed once.....by the Japanese on December 7, 1941.

OMG.
It was 66 years ago on Dec. 7, 1941
And it was Japan not China.

╚RAJâ•
Its the Japanese and not Chinese. Infact the the tourism in that area flourished after the attack and most of the tourists are Japanese!

Gypsy Gal
Today it is still a booming tourist attraction {took a while but we have come full circle}

Actually, its the Japanese who did that. And more specifically, the Japanese Imperial Navy and their carrier bombers and fighters.

If tourist are still bitter about that, then why is it that there are so many Japanese and Japanese-Americans living and touring the Hawaiian islands? Go figure.

Leander
The only bombing I know off was during World War II and that was December of 1941. They were not done by the Chinese but by the Japanese. I'm not aware of any 20 years ago but l always want to learn if that was the case.

alex l
wow they must have kept this information top secret i was unaware that the chinese bombed pearl harbour 20 years ago. thats a huge bit of info do you work for the cia
