I gave my mother a similar gift on her 60th birthday this year. I got a package for myself and for my teenage daughter (her 16th Birthday was the day after my mother's birthday). We had a fantastic time together, took pictures and truly made great memories of the day.

That one is Me!

get the same package and do it with her. It will be a bonding experience rtoo... it will be so much fun for the both of you!!!

i think the best way to save money an hav an excellent birthday, (since my moms is coming up soon) how about doing it at home, buy the supplies, and use the rest to get her a gift card at her fav store, and maybe have a surprise bday party

great idea!! as far as whether you should do it with her or not, it depends on how often you see eachother. if you never have time to spend just being with her, go with her. if you see her all the time, it might be nicer if she goes on her own.

That is such a thoughtful gift! If your mother is like mine (and you can afford it), she might like to spend the spa trip day with you. The two of you could get facials, manis & pedis, and such together, then go out for a nice dinner! Otherwise, you could drop her off there and hang out around town for the day (or bring a good book!) and meet her afterward. Hope your mom enjoys it!

You can give her the package as a gift, and then tell her if she wants a lift, you can give her one. Or if you want to go too I'm sure she would appreciate it! Most people just give them out, and let the person decide when they would like to go.

I'm a mid-50 year old too and often go to the spa with my daughters. This is a great idea for a gift, and even better if you can manage to join her. The package or treatments I like to enjoy include a massage and facial or manicure and pedicure. Some of these packages can be a little expensive, so a massage and steam are great too. Just try to experience this fun day with her. It will be a treat for both of you.

If your mom likes that sort of thing... that is a GREAT gift. But some people just are too squeamish for the spa. It would be fun if you two did it together. I know I'd love it if my daughter treated me and we did lunch together after. Good bonding time.

Well I am a woman in my 50's and the only way I would for sure go would be if my daughter was going with me. I've seen women get spa gift certificates and most let them expire. If I got just a certificate from my daughter I would put off using it mostly because I wouldn't want to do it by myself. Especially as a first time experience she may feel uncomfortable going by herself. But if my daughter actually set up a date for both of us to go, then I would go mainly to spend the day with her but would most likely enjoy the spa also.

Yeah, you'd have to go with her. Lying around for a few hours by yourself can get boring, no matter how relaxing.

Well, I'm a guy, so I'm going off observations of women I know who've gotten / given spa day gifts.

I'd say if it's for your mom that you should think about doing a Spa Day together. Spending time with a daughter is appreciated by most parents, and a spa day can be almost like a vacation for people; as with vacations, it might be better if there's someone you know to share it with.

If a full day is too expensive you could get a smaller package for the two of you... pick your mom up, get her lunch or something, then go to the spa and have a nice afternoon or whatever.

It's a tried and true idea and my mom / sister / girlfriends / friends who go to the spa always end up loving it. I think my mom and sister have gone together, my ex and her mom would go together, and my female friends often talk about how fun it would be to plan a spa day with each other.

SO... go with your mom!

Sound fantastic, Mums love spa's and especially when its for some girley bonding time too. Go with her for sure its so much better to experience the indulgence and pampering together. You chat and relax in a totally new environment.

that's a great gift for any aged woman! if you're able to go with her do it! not only is it more fun to have someone to talk to but you'll get a bit of pampering yourself!

Yeah!! Trips to spas are great gifts!! Moms love the thought of getting to spend one on one time with you. Definetly stay at the spa with her. Its great time together.
