What kind of crap are you talking? Please provide evidence.

Where did you get that information? I have traveled Worldwide and I can assure you that almost everywhere I go folks dream of visiting America. I am sure the usual lunatic fringe loves to spread the impression that America is a "hated" tourist destination but I would like to know the reference for this statement and if there is such a reference I would seriously question it.

kieth chegwin
I love the states

tonalc1
Actually, you're wrong. The U.S. is the third most popular tourist destination, behind France and Spain.

Mopar Muscle Gal
Oh I can think of many countries I hate a lot more

The question's based on a false premise: I'm a Brit and I think the US is a great place to visit. I love going there and find the people very helpful and welcoming. Sorry !

I think America has some great places to visit. However, in terms of the American people, I have to say I don't think it would bother them. Despite this, all the American people I know are very pleasant. They like us Brits (which has to be a good thing).

mmw
my question is why are you asking this dumb question? i live in America thank you and i love it. yes i agree that the way our government runs America kinda sux but this place (America) is beautiful. have you seen it? if not please don't ask any more silly questions like this...

Not where I live. There are LOTS of tourists here. Since I'm not in a tourist industry I don't care if tourists come here or not.

No we have enough money in our own country not to care and we still have plenty of people coming through.

Do you have any evidence to back up your claim? I have to say that I don't believe a word of it; I love America (the States anyway) and have always found Americans to be warm genuine and friendly people. There are lots of places on the planet which would easily top the list of most hated tourist destination and I really don't think that America is one of them.
Anywhere in England would beat it hands down.

prettywoman
Who said America is the most hated tourist destination, you? How dare you. As I've said before AMERICANS are the most gracious, caring and hospitable people I've met. Why don't you try their hospitality? Ps I am not American I am British.

You're the most hated poster on this site....do you care?

slipstreamer
Not sure that you have you facts true, but I would say no, they don't. We are trying to get our government back in shape, so we have more to worry about than tourism at the present. We are still involved in a pointless war.

Based on what? I would think that tourism in the Middle East and Mexico were suffering more due to the political situations there. NY and California are not lacking for tourists - neither is Orlando Florida. Plus, the dollar is weak, so it's even more of a bargain.

Most people who complain about the US have never even been here and don't know any real Americans. My neighbors are from all over and they love it here - most came just to visit and decided to stay. It's a great place and extremely varied.

What exactly is your point?

not really. America is getting too crowded anyways.

kitkat
and yet we still get tons of tourists, so i dont think it matters

Amore vole fe
I don't think it is true. And you can't really have a most hated tourist destination in my opinion. I take it you are probably british. America is probably not the ideal destination because of bombings, terrorist alert and maybe cos it's crowded. But england is no different as we have had bombings and terrorist alerts and it's kind of crowded here. Any evidence?

I saw that stat blurb and thought about it, but since you asked....

I think its because many other countries depend on tourism to support their economy so the people that live there probably cater to tourist more so than we do in the U.S.

Anyway who just wants to visit, the people complaining are probably the ones who came, saw, thought wow! I wanna live here, put in for the VISA, got denied and took it out on a survey.

I'm just saying....I doubt that people just want to visit. The ones that think its a great tourist/vacation spot probably decide to stay so the only ones answering are the ones who can't.

Why should they care? If they live there and they are happy, what else matters? Are You happy where you are and do you care what others think even though you are happy?

Yeah, we do, but we're used to it. That's why so many of us think that we are inferior to other countries.

Americans care but if you have ever traveled in the United States for example I went to Hawaii. It was over ran by Japanese and they were the rudist, crudist people I have ever come across.I don't believe America is the most hated tourist destination. People from all walks of life fly into Las Vegas, Nevada, Hawaii etc. It's more nations hate alledgedly America for our actions of war but now they are getting more focused on the president more than the americans. If a poll was taken I bet President Bush would come up as one of the most hated persons in the world. For Americans traveling abroad they are always welcome and the host coutries love to see those American Dollars spent there.
