Not enough information here. Are you willing to fly? How many hours are you willing to drive? Do you like the beach, the mountains, or city life? What time of year are you going to be traveling?

If you can fly, and like the beach, then Hawaii, Florida, or South Carolina. If you can drive, then what about Mississippi, Alabama, or the Florida panhandle? If you like the mountains, what about Montana or Wyoming or Santa Fe, New Mexico? If you like cities, San Francisco or Seattle. And if you want to fish, Wisconsin. Personally, I want to eat lobster in Maine.

Go to Washington State, the east side, check out the woodlands. Great country out there.

(Watch out for Big Foot.)

Oahu, Hawaii
I went there for a vaction 2 years ago and it was a blast!!! Their beaches were crystal clean!!! Their rain was nice and warm and I went to this place that had to do with the different traditions of the natives who used to live there. it was spectacular!!! Also their hotels are nice and we got on that overlooked onto the beach! It was just amazing!!!! Oh yeah and the souvenirs are pretty awesome.

Go to Pamukkale, a place in Germany.
It is basically a cotton castle!
It is a hot spring too!
Just search Pamukkale for images.
You are going to be astounded....

San Diego is lovely. I know that it isn't in the states, but Vancouver is fantastic. Jackson Hole, Wyoming is fantastic. Those are all great for doing stuff, but if you're just sight seeing, you can't go wrong with DC or NY

Ok so the best place in the states is North Captiva Island in Florida... if you like sandy beaches and an ocean....obviously, with the rented house comes a golf cart, no cars. You can drive to an awesome pool, tennis courts, playground, small shops/drug store, and basketball courts. Great for a family get-away or just couple. overall an amazing place.... so much fun and memories!

I recommend San Francisco!
San Francisco is sooo fun! There's so much to see and do there of course it depends what kinda things you like but of course going to see the Golden Gate Bridge rocks!!
I have been there 5 times in my life and I still haven't seen ansd done all there is to see or do! the Cliff House and Sutro Bath ruins is a great place if you like to Hike to a cave that goes to the Ocean! Golden Gate Park is huge and of course there are Museums and the Zoo!

The Door Peninsula in Wisconsin . . . or anywhere around the Great Lakes . . . is wonderful.
Duluth, MN. is a neat city that would be a HUGE change of pace from Texas.
Just go all around the Great Lakes . . . Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc.
Yellowstone National Park is cool and weird.
The Finger Lakes and wine country of New York State.
Lake Placid, NY is a wonderful blend of history (The Winter Olympics were held there twice) and general lake country tourism in what still manages to be a normal town.
The coast of Maine up to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park can't be beat, either!
So many cool places; I could go on all night!!!

Charleston,South Carolina is great as is Savannah,Ga. Both historical and very classy. The restaurants have wonderful food and many types of lodging. Stay right in the heart of things either place.
Another choice would be The French Quarter in New Orleans
