Yes..the rain was insane last night. I live in the local mountains and was barely able to get home..the road was covered in boulders and small "rivers" that I had to cross. Saw many people turn back and give up trying to get up the mountain..but I had no choice but to try and get home! I have not left my house since and may not be able to get down the hill tomorrow either!!!

Winter rain is one of the things I looked forward too when I lived in the Goleta/Santa Barbara area. The Eucalyptus trees would smell fantastic during a nice rain. I loved it!

Enjoy the rain. It is helping provide the water you all will need during the dry season.

Yeah, i live in the Bay Area, up north from LA. This was one strong storm that affected the whole state of California. We had terrible weather earlier. It started this morning. It was a very strong storm making heavy rain, floods, and very strong winds. Angel Island got winds up to 87 mph, SF had 66 mph at one point, Golden Gate Bridge had winds up to 70 mph, Kregor Peak near Clayton had winds up to 107 MPH, Calaveras road had 78 mph, San Jose had 48 mph. The Bay Area had winds howling and defeating everything in its way. People couldn't even drive on the freeway, they had to drive very slow. Big Rigs were even flipped over. We had floods all over the roads. Coastal cities were under very high surf warning. The ocean waters even made it to the nearby roads and highways. In the Santa Cruz mountains, there was 10 inches of rain. Some roads, freeways, and major bay highways were closed down earlier all over the Bay Area. Trees were knocked down, cars were damaged, power lines were destroyed, transformers exploded. PG&E had hundreds of thousands of people without power all over the Bay Area, even hospitals, stores, and businesses. SFO, San Jose, and Oakland airports had to cancel and delay its flights due to the very strong winds and heavy rain. SFO alone had 40+ flight cancellations. The delayed flights had to wait until towards the evening, when the storm was moving out of the Bay Area. I woke up by the winds pounding my room walls outside. My backyard gate has a thick, long block of wood to lock the doors. It came out making the gate banging hard on my room walls. Everything got knocked down outside. Our streets were flooded especially near the sidewalks.

No power outages where I am. The wind was horrendous the other day! Right now it's I'd say, oh, 0.7 MPH.
I wish it would start raining and turning windy. I love this weather...

CW
I am in it, at first it started hard to sleep, then it was impossible, then loss of power, not it is temporarily clearing

Yup I'm in it also! Its pretty crazy since we usually don't get this weather in the bay area. I was out driving and out of no where it just started to poor down rain it was so bad I couldn't see a thing even with the windshield wipers going as fast as they can.Be safe!

Hello! It's called "weather", people!

This is what the rest of the country deals with ALL winter, and the main reason why I live HERE in SoCal.

So let's suck it up, quit whining, and get on with it!
