Generally, no.
Different casinos will have different policies. Some will allow still photos and others not. Very few will allow video.
Just because people often "get away with it" doesn't mean it is allowed as a matter of policy.
We do not want to make it convenient for people who would cheat or rob us to take pictures and video of our security procedures, so we discourage everyone from taking pictures. In that way, those who would use the pictures and video wrongly choose to go somewhere else to make their move. A few bad apples have to spoil it for everyone.
I like customers, but if I let some take pictures, word will get out and those bad people will take advantage of me. I have to stop everyone from taking photos. |

I took pictures there last summer, but as long as you don't purposely take picture of their secuirty stuff I don't think they'll bother you. Still, different casinos may have different rules there will probably be a sign on the wall saying no cameras or you can ask one of their help desk personel. Have fun there, it's a great place, and hope my answer helped! |

Until a few years a go secuirty were on you as soon as you got a camera outof the bag but times have changed. As a general rule you can take pictures wherever you want of the non gaming areas of the casino, lobby, shops, features etc, if you take a picture of a friend on a slot they dont mind. They are not keen on you taking pictures of the gaming table areas or security, we were playing craps after our wedding and they told us they could not allow us totake pictures we did anyway and they did nothing. They do however not like you taking video's anywhere near the gaming floor. |

I know that when I was there a couple of years ago, I didn't know it wasn't allowed. I got my camera out and before I could take even one picture, I was approached by security and told to put the camera away. I would think the same rule applies to cell phone cameras. |

There are several places you may not take photos. Two of them are the sports book ( cell phones are not allowed either ) or of the gaming tables. There is no problem if you are taking a photo of a friend in the slots area. Example ... at Ceasars Palace .. they have people dressed as Ceasar and Cleopatra walking through the casino ... they will stop and pose with you anywhere they walk ... that is what they do. Believe me it is acceptable there. Another spot perfectly acceptable ... when you walk into the MGM at the second level there is a wonderful view of the casino area and everyone takes photos from there. They are only concerned if you are taking photos of a specific gaming like an empty row of machines. |

I live just north of vegas. You can take pictures just don't take pictures of security such as security gaurds and the casino cameras. They shouldn't mind other wise. The worst that would happen is they would ask you to delete the pictures you had taken and not to take any more. Vegas is a tourist destination and relies on tourists so they expect people to be taking pictures. |

Slowtype gave you the best answer. One thing nobody mentioned is that it's actually illegal for you to shoot motion video on the gambling floor because you'd be able to cheat at the slots if you did. Like other tourists, I've taken lots of pictures inside those buildings because they're so beautiful. Just don't use a flash and try to avoid taking pictures of people you don't know, especially security. If your really want good pictures inside the casino, wait until the end of your day (like after midnight) when there's hardly anybody there. |

Only in the outer perimeters, not inside the actual gaming area. If they catch you, you may be asked to leave or have your camera confiscated. |

As a general rule you if you be there with Children you can take photos.
So on the perimiter of the casino floor, or in the main guest areas.
Cameras are really never allowed on the casino floor, never at tables, sports books and video is pretty much a not allowed.
Hope this helps! |

Vegas casinos im not sure...but ive brought my digital camera in MS. casinos many times...and noone stopped me from taking my pictures...id say bring your camera and hold in your hand in front of security, then if they say nothing, your clear, if they say put it away or it's not allowd, just go put it back in the car, and whip out the trusty phone, no one can stop vistors at a casino from using their cells, it'd run away biz... |
