Are Visa debit cards usable in Ohio? Or are credit cards a must?

Yes, you can use debit cards pretty much anywhere in the US, and many places outside of it, especially Europe. But, no, I am not aware of any Citibank ATM's in Ohio, and since you posed this in Cincinnati, Im really not aware of any in Cincinnati. If there are, they are very few and far between. Its just not one of the major players in this market.
Do you really want to use a debit card anyway? As long as you can control your spending, credit cards are far superior. You earn rewards, you have less liability for loss/theft, you dont have the potential for overdrawing your account and having huge fees tacked on, etc. Just pay off your credit card bill in full each month and you're good to go.

the visa debit card can be use anywhere visa is accepted.
I bet ohio has atms if you need cash. if you get a credit card use it for emergencies only and try not to use more than you can payoff in 1-2 months

If your Visa bank card is both an ATM and a debit card, you can use it anywhere in the country.

Ask your bank to be sure that yours works that way.

Visa debit cards are useable anywhere that accepts Visa. Just look for a Visa sticker in the window or by the cash register at anywhere you go. If you have a good amount of money in the account you will use your debit card with, try to avoid cradit cards. Althought they help your credit score, they are very risky and expensive.

Yes. If you are from Europe. It may not work as a pin transaction. Choose Credit at places that take Visa and gives you a choice of Credit or atm/debit. It will still come out of your checking account or primary account. It might be wise to call your bank to let them know you will be using it in the U.S. U.K. banks are starting to block foreign transactions. Take your banks phone number in case you have any problems.

To bypass the pin pad screen.
Hit cancel
Choose Credit
If pin pad screen popups again, hit cancel again.

You may also be able to use your card on the interlink system.
Check with your bank and see if they support foreign pin transactions on the interlink network.

Note hotels and car rental put big holds on your card. So use credit card instead.

If it has the Visa or MasterCard logo on it, it can be used as a credit card anywhere that credit cards are accepted, and that includes Ohio. But a debit card is deducted from your checking account and has nothing to do with credit. If the money isn't in your checking account to cover the amount of the purchase then your card will be declined by the merchant.

I would take time to compare several debit cards to make sure you get the right one for you. Some debit cards offer special features.

I would suggest going through a reliable site like http://www.rightcharge.org they have a section devoted to debit cards.

Also you might want to take time to look over some of the reward cards. My wife and I got a cash rewards card through them. We end up receiving about $25.00 every 30 days because we use it to buy our gas.

A Vise Debit card works like a credit card when it comes to purchases. I use mine for internet purchases, buying everything. It is safer than carrying around cash and you don't have to pay all the fees and interest that comes with a credit card.

visa is literally accepted anywhere now a days. they can't not accept your debit card. i wouldnt worry. dont get a credit card. it will be your downfall.
