It depends on which state/city you're in. There aren't any in Pennsylvania (where I'm originally from), just intersections and traffic lights. For big highways, most of the time there are "cloverleafs".
Massachusetts has them (particularly in and around Boston).
They're all through Washington, DC, much to my chagrin.
This is because the state and local governments are responsible for planning, creating and maintaining local and state roads. Hence, each state has different rules regarding roundabouts. |

Yes actually, when we were on honeymoon in Cape Cod we came across a couple just before you get onto the Cape. How weird was that trying to negotiate a roundabout in the wrong direction!!!! A lot of the Americans didn't even seem to know how to use them either! I think that they are a rarity over there though. |

I've only seen a couple in my visits to the US and they all seem to be on private property. |

Very few roundabouts. The first time I really drove through a roundabout was when I was driving in the UK. I only know of 2 around my area (NYC). |

Very few. I remember as a child there was one in Waco, Texas. My mother got very confused, and finally drove over the curb and sat in the middle until she worked out where she was supposed to go.
Now I live in the UK, and get really frustrated with the lack of roundabouts when I go back to Texas. |

I don't think there are. as you said they have junctions and traffic lights, On highways they have exit points which look like a roundabout shaped like an 8. My cousin who lives in the states has told me so and you know what, in the US they are so unaccustomed to roundabouts that these new exit points (8 shaped) are causing a lot of havoc and some accidents too! |

Yes there are. Though many have been removed as for some reason the American drivers struggle with the concept of filtering into a roundabout and the high incidence of minor crashes has caused most authorities to have them removed. Which is even more bizarre when you see them at a 4 way intersection where they each drive impeccably and take there turn.
In Naples Florida at the entrance of one of the Estates we visited there is a round about, where the local residents committee have had to put anchor cones in the road and paint bright Orange lines and arrows as the residents were incapable of going right around the huge tree in the middle of the roundabout and there had been so many knocks and crashes.
Tis odd that the Nation that has perfected right turns on red, can't work a silly roundabout. |

There's a lot in Massachusetts and New Jersey. They are becoming more popular in New York state as well. A couple of busy intersections have been replaced by traffic cirlces over the past couple of years locally to me in NY. Engineers say they are safer, but it doesn't seem it. |

We are the worst for roundabouts, if you want to go slowly mental, drive to Harlow in Essex, they have a mini roundabout
at the bottom of very single road and sometimes the roads are only 60 feet apart. |

the yanks dont get a lot right but having no roundabouts is a great idea.everytime we brits build a new road we stick roundabouts or loads of traffic lights on it,why cant we try to keep the continuing flow of traffic. |
