Are there palm trees in Dallas, TX?

Yes, but in general palm trees don't do very well in Dallas. We get freezing temperatures too regularly. I think there's only a couple of species that you can grow here if you're *very* lucky, but they often die after a few years.

Occasionally you'll see one, planted by someone who's just moved to the area. But they don't live very long (the palm trees, not the new people) 'cause the winters can get too cold for them to survive.

Yes. I'm starting to see people grow them. you see them around high class areas like uptown, and also around strip clubs.

No, this is the Plains here, we're virtually in Oklahoma. You want palm trees, you will have to make a long car trip to the Gulf Coast or the Rio Grande Valley. Dallas is not palm tree land.

cold_harbour05
no there are no palm trees in Dallas, the weather is not a tropical one that would support it. Now if you go further south....like houston you will see some palm trees

Some rich people have them. Not common though.

yes i basically live there.

InterNite
Along the coastal.

MrZ
I visited there for the first time last summer. I didn't see any palm trees anywhere.

Mandy S
No. If there are, they're fake.

There are pine trees (Dallas is part of the region of Texas known as the Piney Woods.... believe it or not, there ARE trees in a lot of Texas)

Please, you have to pick the guy who said "only the coastal" or something like that as the best answer, just to mess with his head if he's serious, and to give him props if he's trying to mess with your head. Dallas is firmly surrounded by land. It's several hours from anything resembling a coast.

yupp

shorty
I dont think so

Private P
Yes, but they did not grow here naturally.

Yes, it is VERY green here, not only trees, but jobs, money, lots of green
