No not really. That might because you can't find any major retail story in the city anywere! Its hard to spend money in the city when all the major retailor move out. Other then that i don't really get scared. |

couldn't be. Thats my home. People don't bother you really unless you are drawing a bunch of attention to yourself. Places like Northland and Fairlane are where everyone shops anyway. I know fairlane kicks everyone under 18 out at like 3pm or something. Northland never really has anything bad happen there cause of all the people catching buses. Well that is on the weekends. On the weekdays all of the high schoolers do like to mess with people.......I love my city anyway |

No, I am not afraid to shop in Detroit but there is nothing I really need to get to that would have me go to shop in Detroit. Most of the Large Malls and other stores are in the Other Small Cities!!! |

I reside in the burbs but grew up in Detroit. If I shop in the inner city, I'm not really afraid. But I definitely keep my eyes open moreso than I would if I was shopping in Birmingham, for instance. And the time of day also makes a difference. If it's daylight, i'm cool for sure. If it's night time...well, I just don't tend to shop in the city at night because I don't want somebody to see me coming out with bags and whatnot and get robbed. I guess it also depends on the neighborhood, too. |

Afraid of what? Their is nothing to be afriad of. I have shopped many times in Detroit and never had a problem. TV and the news over dramatizes Detroit to make it seem like some terrible place where you are instantly doomed to be killed when in actuality this is not true. Detroit is no different than any other large city. |

it's not as bad as ppl make it out to be.
i was born and raised in Detroit. it's actually a fun place to hang with friends.
it's true that there are dangers...but lets be real! there are troubles everywhere.
the media has so many bad things to say about Detroit, but never mentions the good things about it...and sadly a lot od ppl believe it.
I'm not afraid at all to shop...it's like a regular malls, and stores they would have any other place.
some places i prefer not to go because of the service and location is where a lot of bad things tend to happen.
but all in all it's not bad |

Where do you shop in Detroit there is hardly any stores come on now seriously. Now that Farmer Jacks is closed there isn't even hardly any grocery stores in the entire city just small corners store with a few groceries. There is just a few shops, mostly hair salons there is very few places to go shopping. And it will stay that way until there is a middle class in Detroit. There is a few places downtown but the majority of Detroit has very few places to buy anything. The stores are in suburbs surrounding Detroit like East point,Dearborn etc... |
