Right now from the US to the UK you can, not the other way around, but even they can buy a magazine or paper after the security check.
Things change on a daily basis, check the airline's and airport's site just before you leave for the latest. |

If it is not made of liquid or gel products you are probably fine. If it is not an electronic device you are probably fine. My suggestion is to watch the news, then maybe you wouldn't ask such idiotic questions. |
