I love AZ, been here 18 years now. I like to be able to drive 2 hours and see snow or drive an hour to go camping. Yes it gets hot here in the summer but it is great in the winter time. |

AZ....I love the desert, the friendly people and its laid back....but NY is great for a weekend trip just because....so much energy, and hustle bustle.
Where I lived in Gilbert was friendly and down to earth....I could understand that maybe in other areas (scottsdale, or mesa)maybe the feel was different, but that was my experience....and yes there is a heavy concentration of Mormons in the Valley....not necessarily a bad thing....especially if you are raising kids and desire a family centered type community. |

I live in NY. My mom moved to Arizona 5 yrs ago. I soo want to move there in about a year. I love it there. You have to consider the weather. If you can't take the heat..don't go there. I personally can't take the cold. So AZ for me!! |

New York City has much more to do and is more diverse.
New York has scenic manmade views; whereas, Arizona has more scenic natural views. |

Arizona for sure. If you don't like heat, live in the mountains. |

If you like mountains, crappy food, constant 150 degree weather, little to no rain, bad drivers, no downtown nightlife, boring architecture, dust storms, crappy public transportation, snakes, scorpions, and lovely sunsets, then Arizona is your place. |

New York City, hands down. It might be more expensive but coming to Arizona is like wanting to get a severe case of depression.
Arizona isn't a very nice place to live, trust me I've been living here forever and when I got a taste of other places I just saw how much better everywhere else is then here and can't wait to graduate and get the hell out.
There's nothing fun to do here unless you like going to the mall everyday for entertainment and a stupid water park. That's it. There's no nightlife because half the freaking population is Mormon and all about having families.
The other half of the population is illegal immigrants, so you better get some Spanish courses or your McDonalds order will be screwed up EVERY SINGLE TIME.
You will spend most of your day inside, unable to enjoy the sun because it will burn you to death in a matter of seconds. Wait until the winter to go outside.
The people are disgustingly rude. They're not friendly at all and it will be hard for you to make friends unless you're in college or something.
There's a city here for only old people, enough said.
Don't choose Arizona. |

what is the question exactly? where would we rather live? visit?

West Coast Baby!.......so AZ.
No Snow or Ice to drive in, no hurricanes, no earthquakes, no tornados just hot summers, but more then perfect winters.
California, Vegas and Mexico are right around the corner. |
