Since you're going during the slower season, you shouldn't see many hour long waits, and you'll be able to get around those with fastpass.

The best way to avoid lines is to approach the parks with a strategy. Show up early and use morning extra magic hours if you're staying at a Disney hotel- before 10am almost every ride is walk-on. Get fastpasses as soon as you arrive in the park and always have fastpasses for something even if you aren't sure you'll use them. That way you'll always have a ride coming up. In between fastpasses ride the less popular rides or watch shows b/c there's rarely a wait.

I would highly recommend getting a copy of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World because it does a good job of explaining which attractions usually have long lines so you can plan accordingly. Here's a list of attractions with generally shorter waits to do in between fastpasses:

Magic Kingdom: Snow White's Scary Adventure, It's a Small World, Philharmagic, Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion, Liberty Belle Riverboat, Carousel of Progress, Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, Stitch's Great Escape, Pirates, Tiki Room, Country Bear Jamboree and the Walt Disney World Railroad...Splash Mountain also has a short line if it's at all chilly (low 70's or below)

Epcot: Spaceship Earth, Ellen's Energy Adventure, Living with the land, Journey into Imagination, finding nemo, Turtle Talk with Crush, Fiesta Gran Tour and Maelstrom- you can also check out the movies in China and France, explore the pavillions or watch the live performances in World Showcase

Animal Kingdom- Triceratops Spin, Primeval Whirl, Pocahontas (show), Festival of the Lion King (show), Tough to be a Bug (show), Flights of Wonder (show), Maharajah Jungle trek (animal exhibits) and Pangini Forest Trail (animal exhibits). If your daughter is young enough to like playgrounds, check out the Boneyard...it's really cool.

MGM: The Great Movie Ride, Backlot Tour, Star Tours, Beauty and the Beast (show), Voyage of the Little Mermaid (show), Indiana Jones (show), Lights, Motors, Action (show), Muppet Vision 3d (show) and the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground

Save these attractions for the middle of the day when it gets really busy and do them in between your fastpass times so you aren't stuck waiting around for stuff.

Here's what you should do for the specific attractions you listed:

Dinosaur- ride early morning or get fastpass

Everest- ride early morning, get fastpass or ride single rider line

Finding Nemo show- show up 30ish minutes before showtime
Finding nemo ride- hardly any wait

Kali- b/c you get wet, it depends on the weather- cooler days have little to no line, warmer days you'll need a fastpass...try to avoid riding during the hotter afternoon b/c it becomes very busy

Soarin- ride early or get a fastpass...these run out by midafternoon most days, so get one early on

Test Track- line is usually shorter than soarin, but get a fastpass or ride single rider if the line is long

RR Coaster- ride early or get a fastpass- I usually go to this ride first thing in the morning, get a fastpass then get in the standby line. By the time I'm done riding I can use the fastpass. After the second ride I get a fastpass for Tower of Terror and get a snack or ride the Great Movie Ride while I wait for my fastpass time.

Stitch almost never has a long line...it's just not very popular

One more thing that you can do is go on rides during fireworks and parades. That gives a 30-40 minute lull in the crowd level.

That's how we tour the parks, and we never wait in a line that's more than 30 minutes long.

It depends, October is normally not a busy time of year. I have disney annual passes so I'm a pro at disney! In the morning the popular attractions are not busy if you get there right at rope drop. But my noon most popular attractions average from around 45-90 minutes. Dont worry though, fast passes are a life saver!

Disney has the FastPass option, where you can bypass many of the long lines on popular attractions. What you do is stick your park admission ticket into a kiosk, and it comes out with a FastPass ticket that gives you an hour range on it. Return to the attraction during that hour range, and you'll go into a special line with a minimal wait. FastPass will turn a 2 hour line at Space Mountain into a 30 minute wait.

You can also stay on site at WDW which I highly reccommend. The Florida resort is MUCH bigger than the rest of Disney's resorts combined, it's massive. One of the perks of staying onsite is early admission into a selected park each day, and they open a section or 2 of the park for onsite guests. The benefit of this is that you can (again) get in a few of the heavy hitters before the main crowds arrive.

October is a good time of year to visit the resort. The weather should be perfect, you'll have missed the summer crowds (which are daunting), and you won't hit the holiday rush yet. Disney also does a special Halloween event which is a lot of fun.

We just got back from WDW, and we found that going at night for the Magic Kingdom attractions was the best bet, Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Nemo, River Rapids had no wait at all in the time frame we went in.
Since we went in early Dec that made the park a whole less crowded and a whole lot more enjoyable.
Epcot has a central kiosk where they post waiting times.
We never at any time had a wait of longer than ten minutes.

The easiest way is the FastPass, but to reduce wait times even further try to get to the park early. Going during the American school year, which you are doing, will help you out considerably. Prioritize the attractions you wish to enjoy and visit them in that order, while getting FastPasses for some of the other ones to enjoy later in the day.

Make use of the Fastpass where available and just enjoy your day!

Get the Fast Pass. It's not AS bad and you get to do other things.
I think, no matter what, you may have to sit in line for quite a bit.
Best suggestion is to get there early, try to get to the popular rides first then get a Fast Pass for the next one you'd want and then go on a fun, yet, not-so-popular ride (or even a show) to pass the time...then you can go on the ride when your time has come.
It always works for me and I usually go during the busy summer season.

get a FastPass. I dont go on rides w/o it. Also, stay at DIsney so you can get the extra magic hours. Check WDW website's calendar for listings of what parks are having the extra hours and whether it's morning (1 hr earlier) or evening ( 3hrs later). During the evening hours you can ride tons of rides w/ little or no wait. For example, i just went in Oct. of this year and at Magic Kingdom every ride (except Peter Pan, it's always packed), walk walk on. We even rode Splash Mountain 3x in a row. no one was waiting to get on. Same with Thunder Mountain Railroad. During the day Magic is PACKED so take advantage of the extra magic hours. Dont miss the waterparks, they are top in the world. We go as soon as they open, 10am and rode all 3 watercoasters at Typhoon Lagoon in 15 min!! we leave about 2pm go to the hotel and go to an extra magic hours evening park.
That's my secrets on not waiting, works everytime for us. Have fun! Dont miss the Mickey's Halloween Party, it's extra money but tons of fun, and we got 10lbs of cany (2 adults combined) trick or treating. it was fun to dress up as pirates.

Wow, those first couple of answers sure make Americans look good don't they. It is not necessary to do anything dishonest. The longest I have ever had to wait in line for the more popular attractions in the busiest of peak times is 45 minutes to an hour. For the more popular attractions make sure to take advantage of the Fastpass option. Almost every ride has fastpass now. Get fastpasses early in the morning, and you should not have a problem. Also, getting to the park early before the majority of the crowds is a good idea. When I was there over the Easter holiday last April (one of the busiest times of the year) I made sure to avoid whichever park had the early Magic hours, but get to the park when it opened. Head right for one of the rides we wanted to go on for sure and get a fast pass, then hit as many as we could before our fastpass time. We could get on 3 or 4 of the more popular attractions right away, then when it really got crowded go back to the hotel for a swim. You also suggested you were going in October, which if memory serves is not one of the busier times of the year, aside from Halloween. If you take advantage of fastpass, and realize you need to just relax, you are on vacation you should be fine.

A lot depends on the time of year you are going.

the website http://www.touringplans.com has a crowd calendar that estimates wait times. In order to access dates that go beyond a month or so you will need a copy of the Unofficial Guide to Disney by Testa/Sehlinger, or pay something like 7.95. Either way, it's a valuable tool.

October is a good time to go, probably 45 min wait. They have this thing you can do where you get like a quick pass for rides, but you can only do them a few times...I forget the details..sorry! But, check it out when you get there!

if you are going early or mid october it should not really be that crowded so you are probably looking at about an hour, but try to get a fast pass for space mountain and the expediton everest they will have the longest lines, dinosaur i waited like 45 mins on avarage but you are probably looking at less... have fun

There were only two rides that I had to wait long for when I went to Disney World. They are Space Mountain and Kilimajaro Safaris. I had to wait a long time for Space Mountain even with a fast pass!
