I was born and raised in the south suburbs and was raised on Aurelio's. Nothing beats it!!!!

Pizzaria #1=Pizzaria Uno. Lou Malnati's father worked there for a long time...the son took the recipe and opened his own shop in Lincolnwood. Why not go to the place where the deep dish pizza started...Pizzaria Uno. If too crowded, go a block away for Pizzaria Due...same recipe, same owner.

Renaldi's at Broadway/Diversey (773-538-7328)...try their Spingionni pizza...it's awesome

Lou malnati's, Father and Son, Marcello's, Leona's, Bacino's.

A good option. I also like Uno's (the original, not the corporate crap one around the country) Giordano's is great for the cheese, and I like Bacino's ingredients.

Years ago, we used to go to Nancy's for great stuffed pizza. I remember one being on Elston just south of Irving Park, but I don't know if it's there anymore. I don't think it's the same Nancy's that you see in the suburbs. Give it a Google search and hope for the best. You won't be disappointed.

I prefer Lou Malnati's, and the other Malnati family pizza place Pizano's to most pizza in the city, but I also like Gino's East. I think Giordano's is about the worst when it comes to a big name Chicago style pizza though...their crust is like the crust from Pizza Hut!

Have you been to the Aurelio's in Homewood? That is the best pizza in the entire history of the universe, and it's a thin crust: http://www.aureliospizza.com
Don't try the other locations, take a trip on the Metra Electric, exit at Homewood and it's only a few blocks south.

Also - Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder Co. is quite delicious if you want something a little different.

I totally agree with you that Lou Malnati's has the best pizza. I love the Lou Special, with thick butter crust! YUM!

Lou Malnati's is very good, but I also liked the pepperoni at Pequod's.

If you haven't already, then you have to check out Congress Pizza on Milwaukee Ave. just north of North Ave. It has been around for over 40 years and in my opinion their pizza is great.

Lou's - hands down the best!

Forget that thick, topping-heavy stuff that sits in your stomach like a sleeping cat. Check out Spacca Napoli, which is REAL Italian pizza, the way it was meant to be made and eating and the way pizza was created. San Marzano tomatoes (the only kind of tomato to use on a pizza), real basil.... mamma mia!

Look, I love deep dish as much as the next guy, but THIS is the way pizza was meant to be eaten.
