Search Expedia or Hotels.com for good deals on the Strip. If you want cheap on the Strip, go for Circus Circus. If you want better quality, you can do Bellagio, Luxor, MGM, Paris, Mandalay Bay, Venetian. All good if you can get a deal. |

Alex,
The only answer to your question is, "it depends."
If money is not a problem, then you and your boys must stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. This is the best hotel for young people in the city - no doubt.
If money IS a concern, then I'd recommend the Imperial Palace. You always see droves of college students there because of the cheap rooms & the central strip location.
Stay away from any hotels North of Sahara Blvd. Also, the Palms is overrated. Nothing going on there, other than Rain on certain nights. |

Hard Rock and the Palms neither on the strip. The Monte Carlo is on the strip not too pricey. No matter where you stay all the hot spots are assessable from almost anywhere on/near the strip. |

Check Orbitz. Vegas has everything from palaces to dumps. If you spend too little you will end up in a dump fit for a junkie. If you are going during spring break, book now. I hate to say it, but you may want to see if you can get a deal in a megahotel like the MGM. |

I think the MGM Grand is the best. They have one of the best pools there. When we stayed, there were people in their 20's all over...plus you get into Studio 24 for free (one of the better clubs). It is not the cheapest, but also not too outrageous. |

Don't stay at the stratoshphere.... Its a $20 taxi ride to the rest of the strip one way. Also consider renting a limo taxi- $40 and he was there within 20 minutes every time we needed a ride ALL NIGHT. Good times. |

I like Stardust. It was affordable for me but it depends on what affordable for you.Westway Ho is next door and they have those 1 lbs, hot dogs and tall daiquiris for less than $5.00. The bus line is convenient there, buy a 1 one pass for $5.00.They have an excellent buffet and it is affordable. |

I travel to Vegas a lot for work and get asked this question a lot. :)
The whole point of Vegas is to get out and see everything so you will rarely be in your room.
I suggest:
Harrahs- mid-strip, great location, medium priced rooms, fun casino right on the strip
Imperial Palace- cheaper, cheaper rooms but you are right in the middle of everything
If you go farther up the strip like Circus Circus (which I nicknamed "kiddie Vegas") you will need a cab after a long night of partying and the cab drivers aren't to be trusted.
Harrahs and Imperial have the monorail that stops right there and takes you down to MGM Grand. |

Well Alex, it depends on what is too expensive and where on the strip you would prefer to stay (either end, the middle). You can always find deals on the travel websites. Hotels that usually have decent deals are MGM, New York New York, Luxor, Monte Carlo...if you want to spend more then Bellagio, Venetian, Paris, Mandalay Bay, Alladin...on the other end you have places like the Sahara, Circus Circus, Excalibur, Tropicana
What kind of amenities are you looking for? Because I'm thinking, you won't be spending that much time in the hotel room - at least that's how my trips to Vegas have been. |

Imperial Palace! My husband and I went with some friends a week ago. we had a view of the strip with a little balcony. we were just above the carnival bar that is a big tent with loud music so it was a party even in the room. not that you'll ever be in it! it is perfect location to everything. |

the Imperial Palace....you are close to everything and it is cheaper. It is across the street from Caesars Palace. (why are people saying Circus Circus??.....it is a far walk to the the main part of the strip). |
